How does breeding work in Palworld?
Every pal has a hidden combination rank. Breeding two different pals produces the eligible pal whose rank sits closest to the rounded-down parent average. Equal-distance ties use a separate game-file priority, then prefer a base form over its variant; parent order does not change an ordinary result.
Do two of the same pal always breed the same pal?
Yes. Same-species pairs always breed true, so two Lamballs produce a Lamball. This rule takes priority over the combination-rank math, which makes a matched pair the reliable way to farm a specific pal or its eggs.
Does parent order or gender matter for breeding?
Every breeding pair needs one male and one female, so two pals of the same gender can never breed. For almost every pair the resulting species is the same whichever parent is which gender, and parent order never changes the child. The one exception in the 1.0 data is the Katress and Wixen pair: there the genders decide the child, giving Katress Ignis one way and Wixen Noct the other.
What are unique breeding combinations?
They are a curated set of special parent pairs that override the normal rank math to produce a fixed child. The calculator applies these overrides first, then falls back to combination-rank matching for every other pair.
Can I find every parent pair for a specific pal?
Yes. Enter a target pal and the calculator back-solves every breedable parent combination that yields it, including same-species pairs and any unique combos. You can also map a multi-step path from pals you already own.
Which mutated Pal can a breeding pair produce?
Open the Mutations tab and choose two parents. The calculator applies Palworld 1.0's native mutation-rank coefficients, resolves every integer roll to the nearest eligible Alpha species, and shows the exact conditional distribution. Those percentages describe which species you get after an egg mutates; the egg's separate mutation chance is 1% normally or 3% with Extravagant Vegetable Cake.
What children can I breed from a single pal I own?
In Find child mode, pick just one parent and leave the other slot empty. The calculator lists every child that pal can produce with some partner, grouped by child, including its same-species true breed and both outcomes of any gender-specific pair. Pick a partner to drop it straight into the second slot.
How does combination rank work in Palworld 1.0?
For an ordinary cross-species pair, Palworld rounds down the average of the two parents' hidden combination ranks and selects the eligible child closest to that value. Game-file priority and base-form rules break ties. Unique combinations and same-species breeding override this calculation.
How does the shortest path calculator work?
Choose a starting Pal you own and a target. The calculator searches the complete published 1.0 breeding graph for the fewest breeding generations, lists multiple minimum-length species routes, and keeps every valid partner option for each shown step. Equally short routes prefer wild-catchable, lower-rarity partners, but that ordering is an acquisition proxy rather than an exact cake or time cost.
What are the passive skill inheritance odds in Palworld?
Under the normal 1.0 inheritance roll, an egg inherits exactly one, two, three, or four passives from the unique combined parent pool with 40%, 30%, 20%, and 10% probability. The game then chooses that many traits from the pool, so keeping unwanted parent passives out improves the chance of the exact set you want.
