The one Anubis you can plan around
A single level 55 field boss in the desert on the main island. The only other mapped Anubis is a band of 35 points out on the Sandstone Gate Islet at levels 68 to 72, where it holds under 5 percent of a three Pal spawner table. The boss pin is the answer, and the islet pin is there so you can see what you would be signing up for instead.

35 points on the Sandstone Gate Islet carry Anubis at levels 68 to 72, but they belong to a spawner table with a roster of three, and Anubis is the smallest entry on it at 4.92 percent. Prixter Lux holds 65.57 percent and Sekhmet 29.51 percent of the same rolls, so most of what appears on those 35 points is one of the other two.
The only route where you choose the level and the passives, since the boss is fixed at 55. The cheapest pair is Blazamut with Dualith at about level 46, so it opens a little earlier than the fight, but both halves are themselves late catches and each egg costs a cake.

Anubis appears in zero egg pools in the whole game, across all 27 egg types. It does not hatch from a Huge Rocky Egg, despite what some guides claim. Sekhmet and Tetroise are the desert Rocky Egg results people are thinking of.
21 points sit in the World Tree region at level 80, all on one aura spawner shared by 72 Pals at equal weight. Each roll there is 1 in 72, and 71 other Pals carry the identical coordinates. Not a population, and not a place to hunt.

What level should I be to beat the Anubis boss?
Around 50 with Giga Spheres. Bring Grass damage, because Anubis is pure Ground, and expect the fight to run long since its partner skill gives it an occasional evade in combat.
Can you hatch an Anubis from an egg?
No. Anubis sits in zero egg pools across all 27 egg types. Several guides still list it as a Huge Rocky Egg result, but the desert Rocky Egg pools actually carry Sekhmet and Tetroise instead.
Why can I never find a wild Anubis?
Because its 35 mapped points sit on a spawner table shared with Prixter Lux and Sekhmet, and Anubis is only 3 of the 61 group weight. About one roll in 20 is an Anubis, and the other two Pals split the rest.
Is Anubis still the best Handiwork Pal?
It is level 6 Handiwork, the top of the scale, and it also has Mining 6 and Transporting 4. Pair it with a Sekhmet in the same base and Sekhmet raises the Anubis work speed by 20 percent on top.
