Cattiva: Location, Breeding and Drops

Walk out of the Plateau of Beginnings and throw a sphere. Cattiva fills the same grass as Lamball across 414 mapped points, and the carry capacity it gives you is why it never leaves the party.

Pairs that make a Cattiva

Cattiva sits at the bottom of the rank table, so a very large number of pairs land on it. That is useful for passing passives down and useless as a way of getting your first one.

Cat Helper is marked "(Does not stack)" in its description. A second Cattiva in the party adds nothing, so the slot is better spent on a mount.
Cattiva drops Red Berries and nothing else. Its Mining 1 rating is about base work, not about what falls out of it when you catch one.
There is no field boss Cattiva and no raid tier. The only Cattiva above level 9 comes from a cavern or a Breeding Farm.
Why bother
Cattiva is the carry weight Pal. Cat Helper adds 100 to your maximum carrying capacity for as long as it sits in your party, which matters more in the first twenty hours than any stat on it. It also covers four jobs at level 1, including Mining, so it is a passable first base worker while you are still short of bodies.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where do you find Cattiva in Palworld 1.0?

Across the Windswept Hills starting area and the islands around it, on 414 mapped points at levels 1 to 9. The densest single patch is Windswept Island at in-game [102, -436].

Does having two Cattiva double the carry weight bonus?

No. Cat Helper is marked "(Does not stack)" in its description, so the plus 100 applies once no matter how many Cattiva are in your party. The second slot is wasted.

What is the highest level Cattiva you can catch?

Level 9 in the wild, and that is a hard cap. Cavern dungeons field an alpha Cattiva at levels 10 to 13, and a Breeding Farm can take it higher still from high level parents.

What does Cattiva drop?

Red Berries, 1 per catch at 100 percent, and nothing else. If you are farming berries a Berry Plantation is a far better use of your time.

Is Cattiva any good at base?

It is a stopgap. Handiwork, Gathering, Mining and Transporting all sit at level 1, so it covers gaps early and gets replaced by anything specialised later.
