Croajiro: Location, Breeding and Drops

Croajiro exists twice: 77 mapped points at levels 4 to 6 around the Fortress Ruins, and 59 at levels 47 to 49 on Sakurajima. Pick by the level you want, not by the map.

Two populations, forty levels apart

All 167 mapped Croajiro points. The clusters near the Fortress Ruins are levels 4 to 6 and the Sakurajima cluster is 40 to 49, so which pin you use decides what you catch.

The route
1Decide which Croajiro you are afterIf you only need the Paldeck entry or a Watering worker, the level 4 to 6 spots near the Fortress Ruins are the answer. If you want one that can fight, go to Sakurajima.77 points at Lv 4 to 6, 59 at Lv 47 to 49
2For the cheap one, walk the Fortress RuinsTwo clusters sit a short distance apart there, 57 points and 20 points, both at levels 4 to 6. A basic Pal Sphere is all this ever needs.Basic sphere, 7 capture power
3For the strong one, fly to the Mushroom WetlandsThe Sakurajima cluster holds 64 points and reaches level 49. Bring Giga or Hyper Spheres, because a basic sphere at level 45 is a waste of a throw.Giga 20, Hyper 26 capture power
4Keep Electric Pals out of the party either wayCroajiro is pure Water at both level bands. An Electric partner will kill the level 4 ones instantly and is the fastest way to lose a level 47 catch too.Water, takes extra from Electric
5If a patch is empty, open a Damp Egg insteadNothing is consumed by a failed catch and there is no boss timer here. A Damp Egg from the Astral Mountains rare routes is a guaranteed Croajiro, which beats a second lap.1 of 1 outcome in that pool

Damp Egg, Astral Mountains pool

The Astral Mountains rare route pool inside a Damp Egg holds exactly 1 outcome and it is Croajiro. A Damp Egg from up there is not a lottery, it is a Croajiro. The Sakurajima pool is a coin flip between 2.

The Sakurajima cavern preset fields Croajiro as its boss: one alpha at levels 47 to 49, or two to three ordinary ones at 40 to 45. The alpha is the highest level Croajiro anywhere.

River pools, weight 94

Croajiro sits at a weight of 94 in five Easy river pools between levels 9 and 24. That covers the level range the wild map skips almost entirely, since the surface jumps from 6 to 40.

Pairs that make a Croajiro

A long list of pairs lands here and each result is guaranteed. Worth it only when you want a specific level between the two wild populations, or a specific set of passives.

The wild map has a hole in it. Surface spawns run 4 to 6 and then jump to 40 and above, with only a thin 10 to 12 band between. If you want a Croajiro in the teens or twenties, fishing is the route that covers it.
The base Croajiro entry has a text quirk: its Leap Stance description opens with the words "Croajiro Noct". The effect it goes on to describe, 50 percent more Attack while airborne, is this Pal's, not the variant's.
Cloth drops from only 25 percent of catches. Aquatic Pal Fluids is the guaranteed one, so plan around fluids and treat cloth as a bonus.
Why bother
Croajiro covers four jobs at level 1 and drops Aquatic Pal Fluids on every catch, which is the reason to keep the cheap ones. Its Leap Stance skill is a launch pad: climb on, get thrown into the air, and land with 50 percent more Attack, which is a genuinely different tool from the buffs most starting Pals carry.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where do you find Croajiro in Palworld 1.0?

In two places at very different levels. 77 mapped points sit around the Fortress Ruins at levels 4 to 6, and 64 sit in the Sakurajima Mushroom Wetlands at levels 40 to 49.

Why is the Croajiro I found level 45 when the guides say it is an early Pal?

Because there are two populations. The Sakurajima cluster runs 40 to 49 and the Fortress Ruins clusters run 4 to 6. Only the Sakurajima one gets attention.

Is there a guaranteed way to hatch a Croajiro?

Yes. The Astral Mountains rare route pool inside a Damp Egg contains exactly one outcome, and it is Croajiro. That is the only guaranteed egg route on any Pal in this part of the deck.

Is Croajiro Noct an upgraded Croajiro?

No, it is Paldeck 9B with its own entry, its own spawns in Feybreak at levels 61 to 62, and a Dark element. Catching one does not fill the Croajiro slot.

What does Leap Stance actually do?

Croajiro puffs up and becomes a launch pad. Climb on and it throws you into the air, and while you are airborne your Attack is 50 percent higher until you land.
