Dinossom: Location and How to Get It

Walk the Sea Breeze Archipelago or the Eastern Wild Island from level 25. If you want one sooner, cave bosses field a Dinossom alpha from level 10.

Two clusters at opposite ends of the island, and nothing in between worth walking. The cave encounters that give a much earlier one are not on this map, because those spots have no fixed location.

The route
1Pick a cluster and commit to itThe Sea Breeze Archipelago holds 71 of the 289 points and the eastern islands hold another 110 between two patches. The middle of the map is empty, so wandering between them wastes the trip.289 points, levels 25 to 34
2Bring Fire, not IceDinossom is Grass and Dragon, so Fire answers the Grass half and Ice answers the Dragon half. Fire is the better single pick because its own Grass attacks fall off against a Fire team. Two weaknesses, one obvious answer
3Throw a Mega Sphere under half healthIt has more health than the level suggests and it charges rather than retreats. Whittle it down properly, then throw, because a full health Dinossom eats spheres.Levels 25 to 34 in the wild
4For one at level 10, dive a Hillside Cavern insteadSix cave profiles field Dinossom at Boss or MidBoss rank with the alpha flag, at levels 10 to 13: the Hillside Cavern, three Isolated Island Caverns and the Meadow profile.Alpha rank, levels 10 to 13

Large Verdant Egg from the Windswept Hills

The Windswept Hills pool gives Dinossom nearly nine times in ten across four outcomes, and the Windswept Hills is where you start the game. This is the fastest way to own one before you can fight one.

Six cave profiles field it at level 10

The Hillside Cavern, three Isolated Island Caverns and the Meadow profile all field Dinossom at Boss or MidBoss rank with the alpha flag, at levels 10 to 13. None of those spots have a fixed location, so the map above cannot show them.

No field boss and no camp

Zero field bosses, zero camp squads, zero quests and zero raid tiers. Every alpha Dinossom in the game is a cave spawn, which is why the surface population caps at level 34.

Dinossom Lux

The Electric variant is Paldeck 84B, lives in the desert rather than the islands, and has its own level 47 field boss. This Dinossom is one of its two parents.

The earliest Dinossom in the game is not on the map. Six cave profiles field an alpha one at levels 10 to 13, and none of those spots have a fixed location, so the heatmap above is the surface population only.
Its drops are Tomato Seeds and Lettuce Seeds, 1 to 2 of each at 100 percent, and nothing else. Catch it for the work stats and the mount, not for materials.
Fragrant Dragon adds 15 percent Defense to Dragon Pals in your party and does not stack. A second Dinossom gives you a second worker, not a bigger buff.
Why bother
Dinossom is an early ridable Dragon, which is rarer than it sounds at level 25. Its partner skill raises the Defense of every Dragon Pal in your party by 15 percent, and it works a base at Planting 3 and Lumbering 3. Its drops are Tomato and Lettuce Seeds, which is a farm starter kit.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where does Dinossom spawn in Palworld 1.0?

In two clusters at levels 25 to 34: 71 of its 289 mapped points in the Sea Breeze Archipelago, and another 110 across the eastern wild islands. The middle of the map holds almost none.

Can I get a Dinossom before level 25?

Yes, two ways. Six cave profiles field an alpha one at levels 10 to 13, and the Windswept Hills Large Verdant Egg pool gives one nearly nine times in ten, from the area you start the game in.

What is Dinossom weak to?

Fire and Ice. It is Grass and Dragon, so Fire answers the Grass half and Ice the Dragon half. Bringing Fire is usually better, because your Fire Pals also resist what it throws back.

Is there an Alpha Dinossom?

Only underground. It has no field boss at all, and its six alpha-flagged spots are all cave spawns at levels 10 to 13, which makes the alpha version weaker than the wild one.

Is Dinossom worth catching?

For an early Dragon mount, yes. It rides, it buffs the Defense of Dragon Pals in your party by 15 percent, and at a base it plants and lumbers at level 3 each.
