Two populations, 40 levels apart
The pin near Crescent Moon Shore is the one to use: 30 forest cave locations at levels 20 to 23. The two Feybreak pins are the open ground population, and they do not start until level 63.

Felbat is the child of more pairs than almost any Pal in the game, but the cheapest of them still needs a parent around level 20, which is exactly where the cave route already sits. Breed one only when you want a chosen level or a passive set.

Where does Felbat spawn in Palworld 1.0?
Inside the forest grottos around [53, -180] at levels 20 to 23, on 30 cave locations, and on Feybreak ice at levels 63 to 66. There is nothing on open ground in between.
Why can I never find a Felbat on the surface?
Because below level 63 it does not spawn on the surface at all. Every early Felbat is a cave interior spawn, where it is 20 percent of a 5 Pal table.
How do you get an alpha Felbat?
Clear a Mountain Stream Grotto. Felbat sits at both the Boss and MidBoss ranks at levels 27 to 29 with the alpha flag, one of each. The only other alpha is a Huge Dark Egg at 14.29 percent.
What is Felbat actually good for?
Life Steal, which restores 5 percent of the damage both you and Felbat deal as Health while it fights beside you. On a base it is a Medicine Production level 3 worker, and it is not rideable.
Is it worth breeding a Felbat?
Only for a specific level or passives. 1181 pairs produce one, which is close to the top of the game, but the cheapest still needs a level 20 parent and the caves are already open at level 20.
