Inside the No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary

A single boss point on the sanctuary island in the far east. The nearest mapped fast travel statue is 0.93 km out, so unlike most legendary arenas this one is a real approach rather than a hop off the statue, and the approach is the part that goes wrong.

1Plan the entry before you plan the fightThe arena is inside a Wildlife Sanctuary, which is guarded ground. Come in on a fast flyer, land close, and accept that you will be leaving under pressure whether the catch lands or not.Nearest statue 0.93 km out
2Fly to [689, 648]The sanctuary island in the far east of the main island map. Nothing labels the arena itself, so the coordinate is the landmark and the sanctuary dome is what you are looking for.Main island, 1 field boss
3Bring Dragon damage, and leave the Ice at homeThis is the Dark variant, not the Ice one. Dragon damage gets the bonus here, while the Fire Pals that shred the base Frostallion do nothing extra. Getting this backwards is the single most common way this fight drags.Dark, weak to Dragon
4Sphere it low, and mind the BlindLegendary Spheres under about a fifth of its health, with your team on passive before the last hit. Its own kit leans on Blind, so fight where you can still see the ground you are standing on.Do not let your Pals finish it

Helzephyr with Frostallion, if the sanctuary is the problem

This is the only Pal on the legendary shelf with a genuine non-self pair, and it is the one way to get a Frostallion Noct without entering a sanctuary. It is not cheaper: Frostallion is its own level 60 field boss, so you trade one guarded fight for an open-ground fight plus a cake and a farm.

Frostallion is a separate Paldeck entry

Paldeck 200 against 200B. The base form is Ice with Cooling 7, this one is Dark with Gathering 7 and no Cooling at all, and they are separate field bosses in different places. Catching one does not fill the other slot, though you do need a Frostallion if you want to breed this one.

No wild population and no egg

There are no wild spawn points, no dungeons, no enemy camps and no egg pools for Frostallion Noct. The sanctuary boss and the breeding pair are the complete list of ways to own one.

Overkill loses the catch outright at this level. Take it under about a fifth of its health and put the team on passive, because a legendary that dies in a sanctuary costs you the whole approach as well as the fight.
There are 3 Wildlife Sanctuary field bosses in the game: Grizzbolt at 30, Astegon at 55, and this one at 65. If you have cleared the other two, this one is a step up rather than more of the same.
Why bother
Black Steed turns your own attacks Dark while you ride, adds Blind 2 and raises your Attack by 10 percent, and it is a flying mount. That attack conversion is the point: it is the cleanest way to carry Dark damage into a fight without building a Dark team around it. At base it is Gathering 7.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where is Frostallion Noct in Palworld 1.0?

A single level 65 field boss at [689, 648], inside the No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary in the far east. There is no wild Frostallion Noct anywhere and no second location.

What is Frostallion Noct weak to?

Dragon. It is the Dark variant, so the Fire Pals that counter the base Ice Frostallion get no bonus here. Bring Jetragon or another Dragon attacker instead.

Can you breed Frostallion Noct?

Yes, and it is the only route that avoids the sanctuary. Helzephyr with Frostallion produces one. You still have to beat the level 60 Frostallion field boss first, so it is a different fight rather than no fight.

Is Frostallion Noct the same as Frostallion?

No. They are Paldeck 200 and 200B, Ice against Dark, Cooling 7 against Gathering 7, and they are separate field bosses. Catching one leaves the other slot empty.

Does Frostallion Noct come back if I kill it?

Yes. Field bosses respawn on server restart, or about an hour on a solo world, and nothing is consumed by failing. Killing it also rolls the Overheat Rifle Schematic 4 at 3 percent.
