Every Gildra spawn on the main island

Every mapped Gildra point, all of them in the Desiccated Desert. They look like three separate hunting grounds and they are not: all 325 draw on one spawner, so the three pins below differ only in how far you have to fly.

The route
1Fly into the Desiccated DesertEvery mapped Gildra is in this one region at levels 39 to 44. Bring Heat Resistance for the day and Cold Resistance for the night, because the desert swings both ways and a survival problem will end the hunt before a Pal does.325 points, one region
2Do not chase the densest clusterAll 325 points draw on the same spawner, so a pin with 106 points and a pin with 55 are the same roll. What changes between them is the flight time back to your base, and nothing else.40 of 1,410 group weight
3Bring Grass or Dragon and clear what is not a GildraGildra is Dark and Ground, so Grass answers the Ground half and Dragon the Dark half. Killing the 17 other Pals on that table is how you force the spawner to roll again, so bring damage that clears them fast.Dark and Ground, 18 Pals on the table
4Throw Mega Spheres once it is under halfA level 39 to 44 catch wants a Mega Sphere as the floor and a Giga if you have them. Put your team on passive before the last hit, because the whole cost of this hunt is the time it took the spawner to give you one.Lv 39 to 44
5If the roll will not come, open Dark Eggs insteadThe Desiccated Desert pool on the Large Dark Egg holds four outcomes and gives Gildra 43.48 percent of them, which is roughly fifteen times the wild rate. The nests are in the same region you are already standing in.43.48 percent against 2.84 percent

Large Dark Egg, 43.48 percent

The Desiccated Desert pool holds four outcomes and gives Gildra 43.48 percent, with the Huge Dark Egg from the same nest giving 10.34 percent. Against a 2.84 percent wild roll that is the strongest reason to pick up every egg you pass.

The cheapest is Palumba with Relaxaurus at about level 32, seven levels under the wild band, which is not enough of a saving to justify two hunts, a farm and a cake. Use it to set passives once you already own one.

No boss, no cavern, no camp

There is no field boss, dungeon spawn, enemy camp, raid tier or fishing pool for Gildra. There is no guaranteed encounter anywhere, which is unusual for a Pal this deep into the Paldeck and is why the egg route matters.

The 21 World Tree points are a 1 in 72 roll

There are also 21 points at level 80 in the World Tree. All 21 sit on one aura spawner shared by 72 Pals at equal weight, and Jormuntide and Suzaku hold the identical coordinates. It is a lottery ticket, not a habitat.

The 2.84 percent is a selection weight, not an observed catch rate. It is the reason a 106 point pin and a 55 point pin feel identical in play: they are the same table, and the table is choosing between 18 Pals every time it fills a point.
Gildra is nocturnal, but none of its spawn points carry a night-only flag. It turns up in the desert during the day as readily as at night, so a guide telling you to wait for dark is costing you daylight.
Handiwork 5 arrives here earlier than on most Pals that carry it, and it comes with Medicine Production 4 in the same body. If your base is short of both benches, one Gildra covers them.
Why bother
Gildra is a Handiwork 5 and Medicine Production 4 worker, which is a strong pair of numbers for a Pal you can have before level 45, and it is one of very few that carries both. Its partner skill, Resurrection, brings it back up when it is knocked out in the field with its Hunger emptied instead of leaving you a Pal down.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where does Gildra spawn in Palworld 1.0?

Across 325 mapped points in the Desiccated Desert at levels 39 to 44, with the densest cluster at [341, 340]. Every one of those points belongs to the same spawner group.

Why is Gildra so hard to find?

Because its one spawner group runs 18 Pals against 1,410 summed weight and gives Gildra 40 of it. That is 2.84 percent, or about one spawn in 35, and no patch on the map improves on it.

Is Gildra a night-only spawn?

No. It is nocturnal, but its spawn points carry no night-only flag, so it appears in the desert by day too.

Which egg hatches a Gildra?

Dark Eggs from the Desiccated Desert. The Large Dark Egg pool gives it 43.48 percent of four outcomes and the Huge Dark Egg gives 10.34 percent, so the eggs beat the wild roll by a wide margin.

Is Gildra worth catching?

Yes, for Handiwork 5 with Medicine Production 4 in one Pal before level 45. Its partner skill also revives it in the field with its Hunger emptied, so it does not leave a hole in your party mid fight.
