How to Get Hartalis

Hartalis exists only as a Summoning Altar raid. Craft the slab from 4 fragments and beat the level 70 tier. The level 80 Ultra tier is the same Pal, so start with the cheaper one.

Where the fragments are, and where they are not

The raid runs at an altar in your own base, so this map covers the part that actually costs time. Every mapped fragment source sits in the late regions: Sakurajima, the Sky Islands, the Astral Mountains and the Yamijima sea bases. The dungeon layer is on for one reason, and the legend explains it.

The route
1Build a Summoning AltarTechnology 33, and it is an ancient node, so it costs 3 Ancient Technology Points from tower bosses. The build itself is 100 Stone and 20 Paldium Fragment, which is the cheap part.Technology 33, 3 ancient points
2Run the two hard expeditions on repeatDark Island Hard and Sky Island Hard each return 1 to 2 Hartalis Slab Fragments every single time they finish. Nothing else pays better, and both run from your own base while you do something else.4 fragments per slab
3Summon the level 70 tier firstPlace the Hartalis Slab at the altar and interact. Both tiers give you the same Hartalis, so the level 80 Ultra slab buys you a harder fight and no new Paldeck entry.2 tiers, 1 Pal
4Break the barrier, then commitHartalis is pure Neutral, so Dark damage is the only element with a bonus against it. Its own Sacred Barrier blocks attacks outright while it holds, so save your heavy burst for the windows between.Neutral, weak to Dark
5Throw early, because the slab is already spentLegendary Spheres once it is low. The raid runs on a timer and the slab is consumed at the moment of summoning, so a timeout costs exactly what a wipe costs.Slab consumed win or lose

The Ultra slab gives you the same Pal

Both raid tiers summon LegendDeer. The Ultra slab only raises the fight to level 80. It is also the one item on this page with no known source: its fragment has an empty loot list, so where it drops is unknown.

One portal in the game drops a finished slab

The Sunreach Skies technology-book pool drops a whole Hartalis Slab a third of the time, which sounds excellent until you count the portals. Exactly 1 of the 170 mapped dungeon entrances is a Sunreach Skies portal. Take it if you are passing. Do not plan around it.

Sealed Realms drop nothing here

Sealed Realms drop no reward item at all, for Hartalis or for any other raid Pal. The 18 fixed entrances are boss encounters, not loot.

BreedingBlocked
No pair produces one

Hartalis is flagged unbreedable, so its single combination comes from the same-species rule and needs the Hartalis you are trying to get. The Breeding Farm is also a technology 19 ancient unlock, so it is never the free option people assume.

Hartalis is in 0 egg pools. There is no egg, no wild spawn and no field boss anywhere for it.
The slab is spent at the moment you summon, not when you win. Bank fragments for two or three attempts before the first serious try, because 4 fragments is one shot.
The Hartalis Saddle is a separate technology 70 unlock costing 5 points, plus 60 Leather, 48 High Quality Cloth, 48 Coralum Ingot and 200 Paldium Fragment. Sacred Barrier does nothing until it is built.
Why bother
Sacred Barrier is the reason to own one. Mounted, Hartalis raises a barrier that blocks all attacks for 15 seconds on a 5 second cooldown, and it triple jumps while ridden. It is also a strong worker at Gathering 7 and Lumbering 7, and every capture pays 2 to 3 Horn and 2 to 3 Leather.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where do you find Hartalis in Palworld 1.0?

Nowhere on the map. Hartalis is summoned at a Summoning Altar in your own base with a Hartalis Slab. There are 0 wild spawn points, 0 field bosses and 0 egg pools for it.

Is the Hartalis (Ultra) Slab a different Pal?

No. Both slabs summon Hartalis, at level 70 and level 80. That is the opposite of the Bellanoir slabs, where the higher tiers summon Bellanoir Libero, a separate Paldeck entry.

Where do Hartalis Slab Fragments drop?

Dark Island Hard and Sky Island Hard expeditions return 1 to 2 every run at 100 percent. Four more expeditions, three late treasure pools and seven enemy camp goal rewards drop them at 33.3 percent.

Do Sealed Realms drop Hartalis Slab Fragments?

No. No item in the catalog carries a Sealed Realm reward, so the 18 fixed entrances are worth clearing for the boss and nothing else. Run expeditions instead.

Do I lose the slab if the raid timer runs out?

Yes. It is consumed when you summon, so a timeout and a wipe cost the same as a win. Throw Legendary Spheres as soon as its health is low rather than waiting for a clean window.
