Hoocrates has zero field bosses. It does appear as an alpha inside Hillside Cavern, all three Isolated Island Caverns and Meadow 01 at levels 10 to 13, which is a cave encounter you cannot pin on the overworld map.

Across 311 mapped points on the main island. The three densest are the grass around [-209, -343] with 90 points, the Sea Breeze Archipelago with 77, and Windswept Island with 51.
Is Hoocrates night only?
It is nocturnal, but the spawn data carries no night-only restriction. Search after dark first, and do not assume daylight is wasted.
What level is a wild Hoocrates?
Anywhere from 4 to 22, which is one of the widest starter bands in the game. If you want a specific level, breed one rather than hunting for it.
Is there an Alpha Hoocrates?
Only inside dungeons, at levels 10 to 13 in Hillside Cavern, the three Isolated Island Caverns and Meadow 01. There is no field boss encounter for it anywhere on the overworld.
What is Hoocrates good for?
Its partner skill Dark Knowledge gives every Dark Pal in the party 15 percent more Attack. It also drops 5 to 10 Fiber per catch and has a 1 percent chance at an Advanced Technical Manual.
