Where to find the two parents

Felbat carries the heatmap because it is the harder half of the pair to walk into, and its clusters sit a long way from Foxcicle. The Foxcicle field boss pin is the fastest way to close out the other side.

116 points, all of them in the sky

Three Sunreach spawner groups carry it: the highland table at 26.11 percent, the mountain table at 25.45 percent and the forest table at 32.79 percent. Levels are 65 to 69. The 90 point cluster sits 0.33 km from the nearest labelled area, Azure Woodland.

Dark Egg, one of two outcomes

The Sky Islands pool on the Dark Egg holds two outcomes at 50 percent each, and the other one is Bakemi. The Large Dark Egg runs the same two-outcome pool and hatches an alpha instead. There is no way to steer the roll.

Bakemi stands on the identical spots

Bakemi shares all three Sunreach spawner groups, all 116 points and both Dark Egg pools with Hoodle. It is a different Paldeck entry and a far better worker, so if you are up there hunting, know which of the two you actually want.

Same 116 pointsPaldeck 166 and 168How to get Bakemi
Hoodle is flagged nocturnal in the Paldeck, but none of its spawn locations are night gated, so the flag describes the Pal rather than when it appears. Daylight trips work.
Every mapped Hoodle point is shared with Bakemi at the same weights, so a busy looking heatmap is two Pals deep. Expect to see roughly as many Bakemi as Hoodle on the same loop.
The Dark Egg is a coin flip between the two of them, which makes it a fine way to fill both Paldeck slots and a poor way to fill one specific slot.
Why bother
Hoodle is a party Pal rather than a worker. Void-Dweller raises the damage you deal to enemies that are not yet in combat by 50 percent, which is an opening-strike bonus for anyone who plays camps and alphas by ambush. At a base it offers only Handiwork 1 and Transporting 1, and each one drops a Small Pal Soul and a Horn.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where does Hoodle spawn in Palworld 1.0?

Only on the Sunreach sky islands, across three spawner groups holding 116 points at levels 65 to 69. The largest cluster is 90 points, 0.33 km from Azure Woodland.

Do you have to hunt Hoodle at night?

No. It carries the nocturnal flag in the Paldeck, but none of its spawn locations are night gated, so daytime and nighttime give the same odds.

What is the cheapest Hoodle breeding pair?

Felbat with Foxcicle, priced at level 20 by the harder parent. Foxcicle has a level 15 field boss, so only the Felbat half needs hunting. 235 pairs make a Hoodle in total.

Which egg hatches a Hoodle?

The Dark Egg from the Sky Islands pool, at 50 percent against two outcomes. The other outcome is Bakemi. The Large Dark Egg uses the same pool and hatches an alpha.

Is Hoodle worth a base slot?

Not really. It offers Handiwork 1 and Transporting 1 and nothing else. Its value is the party skill, which adds 50 percent damage against enemies that have not entered combat yet.
