Worth it only for passing passive skills down, or for a Lamball above the wild level cap of 9. Every pair below is a guaranteed result.

No boss or alpha version

Lamball has no field boss anywhere, so there is no larger version to hunt and no higher-level wild one to find.

Wild levels cap at 9. If you want a high-level Lamball, breed one from higher-level parents rather than hunting for it.
There is no alpha Lamball and no boss Lamball. Time spent looking for one is time you do not get back.
Why bother
Lamball is the cheapest breeding parent in the game and the first Pal you can put on a Ranch. Its partner skill, Fluffy Shield, equips as a shield and drops Wool while it is assigned. Catch two early and you will use them for the next fifty hours.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where does Lamball spawn in Palworld 1.0?

Across the Windswept Hills and the surrounding starting islands, at levels 1 to 9, on every mapped spawn point shown above. The densest patch by a wide margin is Windswept Island.

What level is Lamball in the wild?

Levels 1 to 9, and that is a hard cap. A higher level Lamball has to come out of a Breeding Farm rather than the grass.

Can you breed Lamball?

Yes. Two Lamballs produce Lamball eggs, which is how you pass passive skills down. Several other pairs land on Lamball as well, but none of them is faster than walking outside.

What does Lamball drop?

Wool at 1 to 3 per catch and one Lamball Mutton, both at 100 percent. Wool is the reason most players keep a couple on a Ranch rather than in the party.

Is there an Alpha or boss Lamball?

No. Lamball has no field boss, so there is no larger version to hunt down and no wild Lamball above level 9.
