The Sky Islands pool holds only 3 results and gives Leafan 49 percent of them by weight. The Bamboo Groves pool is wider at 8 results but still gives it 47 percent, which is unusually generous for a pool that size.

The cheapest pair needs about a level 23 parent, five levels below the wild band. Worth it for passives or to get one slightly early, but not a route that changes your day.

One hundred and fifty seven points is the whole wild population, and the 53 Sunreach points are part of it rather than an addition to it. The sky islands sit inside the main island map.
Both of its spawner groups give Leafan a share above 23 percent, which is high for a Pal with no field boss. Those are selection weights, not observed drop rates.
There is no band between level 30 and level 67. If you want a mid level Leafan, the Breeding Farm is the only way to set the level yourself.
Why bother
Selfless Discipline raises its own Attack and Defense by 2 percent for each other Grass Pal in your party, so a full Grass team gives it 8 percent of each. On a base it carries Planting, Handiwork and Gathering at level 3 apiece, which is a rare three-way spread at this stage of the game. Its drop table is a single line, Leather at 2 to 3.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where does Leafan spawn in Palworld 1.0?

In two places. A hundred and four points near Verdant Brook at [252, -133] at levels 28 to 30, and 53 more on the Sunreach sky islands at [-273, -1514] at levels 67 to 68.

What level is Leafan in the wild?

Either 28 to 30 or 67 to 68. Its two spawner groups are 37 levels apart with nothing in between, so a mid level one has to be bred.

What does Leafan drop?

Leather, 2 to 3 per catch, at 100 percent. That is the entire drop table, which makes it one of the plainest droppers in this part of the Paldeck.

How does Selfless Discipline work?

It raises the Attack and Defense of Leafan itself by 2 percent for every other Grass Pal in your party, so a party of five Grass Pals gives it 8 percent of each. It does nothing for the rest of the team.

Can you breed Leafan?

Yes, from 239 pairs. The cheapest needs about a level 23 parent, so breeding gets you one a few levels early rather than a whole stretch of progression early.
