The boss stands at a fixed Sealed Realm entrance on the Isle of the Glacial Core, and the nearest fast travel statue is 0.07 km away, the closest approach of any legendary boss fight in the game. The Sealed Realms layer shows the other 17 fixed entrances for context.

◆The entrance here is labeled Sealed Realm of the Frozen Wings, a name shared by 6 of the 18 Sealed Realm entrances. Use the coordinate [139, 651] to be sure you have the right one, whichever name a guide uses.
◆Its Large Pal Soul drop is 1 percent, the lowest of any legendary boss. Do not plan a soul farm around Neptilius; the 10 Coralum Ore and 10 Hexolite are the reason to fight it repeatedly.
◆Overkill loses the catch. Its attack of 145 tempts you into trading damage, and a level 60 boss that dies is an hour of waiting rather than a Paldeck entry.
Why bother
Sentinel of the Great Sea makes it a water mount that leaps high off the surface, and while it is in your party it follows up your own attacks with Water spear strikes. It works at Watering 7, which only Shaolong beats in the whole roster, and every capture pays 10 Coralum Ore and 10 Hexolite at 100 percent.
