How to Get Polapup

Fish the snow mountain water from level 20. Polapup is 31.65 percent of a 3 Pal pool there on Normal difficulty, which is 13 levels below the first place it stands on open ground.

Astral Mountains Cavern, two ways in

The cavern carries its own fishing table where Polapup and Whalaska hold 50 percent each at levels 42 to 44, and a boss table at 12.5 percent where it appears as an alpha at 42 to 45 or as a non-alpha pair at 39 to 41.

The cheapest pair on paper is Felbat with Mimog at level 20, but Mimog holds under 2 percent of the roll in all 93 of its spawner groups, which makes that pairing impractical. The first practical pair is Broncherry with Caprity Noct at 23. Both need a farm and a cake to match what one cast already gives you.

◆The one Pal spawner group at [15, 300] is worth more than the rest of the ground put together. 10 guaranteed points beat 16 points at 2.63 percent, and no point count on a map will tell you that.
◆A third pool, the small starting spot table, also carries Polapup at 10 percent for levels 20 to 25. It is worth a cast if you are already there, but the snow pools are three times as likely.
Why bother
Polapup is a mount that moves 80 percent faster on snow and slides down slopes, which turns the Astral Mountains from a slog into a short trip. On a base it is a Cooling level 4 worker plus Watering 3, and Cooling 4 is rare on anything you can obtain at level 20. Every catch drops 1 to 3 Ice Organs.
