Where to find Ghangler and Leafan

Every Starryon on open ground is level 53 or above, so the heat is Ghangler, the harder parent, at level 30. Leafan is pinned to the east, and the two Yamijima pins show what you are choosing not to walk to yet.

The route
1Catch a Leafan at [252, -133]Level 28, and 104 of its 157 main island points sit in this one cluster, so it is a short stop. Pure Grass, so Fire is the counter, and it is the cheaper half of the pair.Lv 28, 104 points in one spot
2Catch a Ghangler at [-771, -885]Level 30 and the harder half. Ghangler is Dark and Water, so Dragon covers the Dark half and Electric the Water half. It has 112 mapped points, so a second attempt is cheap.Lv 30, 112 points
3Put the pair in a Breeding Farm with a CakeOne hundred and eighty seven pairs produce a Starryon. Ghangler with Leafan is picked because 30 is the lowest either half costs, which is 23 levels below the open ground in Yamijima.187 pairs, this one costs Lv 30

The most dominant Pal in the Yamijima forest

Starryon carries weight 100 on all 5 of its Yamijima groups and nothing else on any of those tables carries more than 40. The shares run 41.32 percent in the forest, 43.10 in the lava and 49.50 on the smallest patch. If you are already at level 53, this is the fastest route on the page.

The Yakushima hollow at level 42

A Yakushima hollow table lists only 3 Pals and Starryon is 1 of them, at levels 42 to 44 and 2 to 3 at a time. That is the earliest Starryon in the game, 11 levels below the open ground. The Feybreak Cavern also fields it, 1 of 5 in the ordinary rooms at 50 to 54 and 1 of 25 as an alpha at 56 to 58.

One field boss, at level 63

A single Starryon field boss sits inside the same Yamijima forest as the big cluster, at level 63. It is 10 levels above the ground it stands on and the only guaranteed encounter outside a dungeon, so take it for the fixed level rather than for access.

Dark Eggs from Tenraku

The Tenraku common route Large Dark Egg pool holds 7 outcomes and gives Starryon 12.9 percent. The rare route Huge Dark Egg pool holds 7 as well and gives it 14.29 percent as an alpha. Both are far worse than the forest and worth opening only if you already have the eggs.

The shares here are selection weights, not observed catch rates. Starryon is the rare case where the biggest cluster is also good ground: 92 points and 41.32 percent of the roll in the same place.
The 21 further points in the World Tree at level 80 are the shared aura table, 72 Pals over 21 coordinates, so 1 in 72 of one roll. That is not a sixth group and not a destination.
Starryon is flagged nocturnal but none of its spawn points are marked night only, so hunting it in daylight works. What night changes is the mount: Night Dancer adds 50 percent Movement Speed after dark.
Why bother
Gathering 5 puts Starryon among the 18 best gatherers in the game, which is unusual for a Pal most people catch as a mount. Night Dancer raises its Movement Speed by 50 percent after dark and adds jump height, so it is a genuine traversal answer for Yamijima at night. Its drop table is also the full Ancient Relic ladder plus 10 to 20 Dark Radiant Gem, which makes a Starryon patch an awakening farm.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What two Pals make Starryon?

One hundred and eighty seven pairs produce one. The cheapest is Ghangler with Leafan: Leafan is catchable from level 28 and Ghangler from level 30, both on the main island.

Where does Starryon spawn in Palworld 1.0?

Across the Yamijima forest, 209 mapped points from level 53, with a 92 point cluster in the western woods. It is the heaviest entry on all 5 of its spawner groups there, between 41.32 and 49.50 percent of the roll.

What is the earliest Starryon you can catch?

Level 42, in a Yakushima hollow whose table lists only 3 Pals and spawns Starryon 2 to 3 at a time. Everything on open ground starts at 53, so breeding at level 30 is still earlier.

Does Starryon only spawn at night?

No. It is nocturnal but none of its spawn points are night only, so it appears in daylight too. Night matters for its partner skill, which adds 50 percent Movement Speed after dark.

Is Starryon worth catching more than one?

For farming, yes. Gathering 5 is a genuine base slot, and its drop table carries the full Ancient Relic ladder plus 10 to 20 Dark Radiant Gem, so a forest run doubles as an awakening run.
