How to Breed Yakumo
Breed a Chillet with a Munchill at level 11 rather than waiting for the level 40 wild band. A bred Yakumo also lets you pick the passive its partner skill then hunts for you.

Where to find Chillet and Munchill
Every wild Yakumo is in Sakurajima and none is below level 40, so the heat is Chillet, the parent with a guaranteed level 11 boss on the main island. Munchill sits west of it and the Yakumo woods are pinned for later.

4 alternatives checked against the breeding routeYakumo appears in Ninja camp 01-02 outside, Ninja camp 02-01 in a first floor corridor and Ninja camp 02-02 outside the main building, one each. That is three separate camps, more than anything else in this part of the Paldeck, and no level is recorded for any of them.
The Sakurajima Common Egg pool holds exactly 2 outcomes and Yakumo takes half the weight. Common Eggs are the cheapest egg in the game to come by, so this is the least effort route to a Yakumo of any level the nest feels like giving you.
One Sakurajima group carries 52 of the 67 points at levels 53 to 56, and Yakumo is tied for the heaviest of its 8 entries at 25 of 122 weight, so 20.49 percent. Good ground. It is 42 levels past the point where breeding one was already possible.
Yakumo has 0 field bosses, 0 raid tiers and 0 quest steps. The only guaranteed encounter is the Cherry Blossom Cave boss room, where it owns 2 of the 31 entries, as a level 47 to 49 alpha or a pair at 40 to 45.

the questions people actually search forFrequently asked questions
What two Pals make Yakumo?
Two hundred and forty four pairs produce one. The cheapest practical pair is Chillet with Munchill, both level 11 or below: Chillet has a guaranteed level 11 field boss and Munchill spawns from level 10 on the ice block.
How does Birds of a Feather work?
While the Yakumo fights with you, your chance of encountering Pals carrying the same passive skill as that Yakumo rises by 15 percent. Some passives are excluded. It follows the Yakumo you are using, so its own passives are what matter.
Where does Yakumo spawn in Palworld 1.0?
Only in Sakurajima, across 67 mapped points at levels 40 to 56. Fifty two of them are one cherry woods group where Yakumo holds 20.49 percent of the roll.
Which egg hatches a Yakumo?
A Common Egg from Sakurajima. That pool holds only 2 outcomes and Yakumo takes 50 percent of the weight. The Large Common Egg version drops it to 2.05 percent, so the small egg is the one to open.
Is Yakumo worth using?
Only for the passive hunting. Gathering 2 and a Leather drop make it a poor worker, but a bred Yakumo carrying the passive you want turns the encounter bonus into a real farming tool.
