The Bellanoir Raid Mistake That Can Destroy Your Base

Choose the dedicated Raid Area, use its Palbox to deploy a full roster, and never gamble your production base on a Bellanoir summon.

The most expensive Bellanoir mistake happens at the Summoning Altar: choosing to fight at your base. Bellanoir's beams and wide attacks can tear through the production lines, storage, breeding setup, and structures you spent hours building.

Palworld 1.0 gives you a much better choice. Enter the dedicated Raid Area, then use the Palbox inside the arena to deploy a full base-style combat roster. Your active party is only the start of the army.

Base battle or Raid Area: choose the arena#

The Summoning Altar presents two very different fights. One keeps the boss at the base containing the altar. The other moves the encounter to a purpose-built Raid Area.

ChoiceWhat you gainWhat you risk
---------
Fight at baseExisting base Pals and defenses are already nearbyStructures, storage, production, pathing, and the Palbox itself
Enter Raid AreaA clean battlefield and a dedicated Palbox for the raid rosterOnly the slab, time, and condition of your combat team

The base option exists for players who deliberately built a sacrificial raid outpost. It is a bad default for everyone else. A level advantage does not make a factory immune to a boss beam.

If the altar sits inside your main base, slow down at the destination prompt. Better yet, place raid altars at a cheap staging outpost so one rushed selection cannot turn into a rebuild.

The altar starts the raid, but the destination decides whether your base becomes collateral damage.

The arena Palbox is the real raid mechanic#

The Palbox near the center of the Raid Area is not just storage and it is not only a way to replace your five party Pals. It works like a base Palbox: move combat Pals into the available base slots and they appear together on the field.

That changes Bellanoir from a long solo-style duel into the intended army fight. Deploy every useful slot your world settings allow, keep the next replacements easy to find, and return to the box when defeated Pals need to be swapped out.

The standard Bellanoir slab summons a level 35 Dark raid boss. Dragon damage is the natural starting point. The Bellanoir counter planner recommends a leveled Dragon army plus enough player damage to finish inside the timer. Treat level 35 as the boss level, not proof that an average player-level-35 collection is ready.

Build the roster before using the slab#

Sort your personal Palbox before the summon. Put the opening army together, place replacements directly behind it, and move unrelated workers away from the pages you will use. Do not start an expedition with Pals intended for the raid.

Use four roster jobs:

  1. Opening army: your strongest healthy Dragon attackers.
  2. Replacement army: the next best attackers, already fed and healed.
  3. Durable anchors: bulky Pals that keep pressure off the player during rotations.
  4. Player support: Pals or passives that improve the weapon setup you are actually using.

Do not deploy fragile workers merely because they have a high displayed level. A raid slot should contribute damage, durability, or a specific support effect.

The arena can become visually chaotic when a full roster attacks at once. Reduce damage-number size if effects obscure the boss, and keep enough distance from the Palbox that Bellanoir's attacks do not constantly cover your roster controls.

The summon checklist#

The slab starts the encounter, so finish the preparation before interacting with the altar.

  • The destination prompt will be set to the dedicated Raid Area.
  • The personal Palbox has a full opening army and ready replacements.
  • No raid Pal is assigned to an expedition or left working at another base.
  • Every raid Pal is healed, fed, and equipped with useful active skills.
  • The player has repaired armor, a full shield, ammunition, and healing.
  • The Bellanoir counter plan favors Dragon damage and real player DPS.

Back up the world before the first attempt if you run the server. Pocketpair's dedicated-server configuration supports world backups, and an extra manual save before consuming a hard-earned slab is sensible change control.

How to run the fight#

After entering the Raid Area, use the arena Palbox immediately and fill the available base slots. Then take a position that draws Bellanoir away from the box before committing to sustained damage.

Fight actively. Your weapon damage matters, and a passive spectator can turn a manageable clear into a timeout. Watch the roster as well as the boss health bar. When several Pals fall, rotate replacements as a group instead of making repeated one-at-a-time menu trips.

If Bellanoir warps or moves onto the Palbox, pull her away before opening menus. Pocketpair's 1.0 fixes specifically mention Raid Area cases where bosses could target the Palbox with a warp attack when players moved beyond attack range, which is a good reason to keep the fight centered and the box accessible.

What changes for Libero and Ultra#

Standard Bellanoir is the onboarding raid. Bellanoir Libero's slab summons a level 45 variant, and Ultra is an endgame optimization check with a much less forgiving health pool. Do not assume the roster that barely clears standard Bellanoir is ready for either one.

Libero needs a planned response to its later phase, not just a larger copy of the opening Dragon army. Ultra should wait until the standard Libero clear is repeatable with time to spare. The Raid Area and its Palbox remain the foundation, but roster depth and rotation speed matter more with every step up.

The broader Palworld 1.0 base and raid guide explains wave raids, raid scaling, defenses, and new base-management systems. Normal base raids are separate from a boss you deliberately summon, but both reward clear paths and intentional staffing.

Build the slab, prepare two waves in your personal Palbox, choose the Raid Area at the altar, and deploy a full army from the arena Palbox. Bring real player damage and replace defeated Pals in groups.

The base-fight option is a challenge setting for a disposable outpost. The dedicated Raid Area is the practical setting for a first clear, and learning what its Palbox does is the single biggest upgrade most new raiders can make.
