The base form fills Paldeck 74, is pure Neutral, and carries Lumbering 3 where this one carries Mining 3. Its partner skill is an activated 75 percent attack buff rather than a passive climbing boost. Catching one does not fill this slot, though it is one of the two parents.

◆The Obsidian egg pools are the story here. A single-outcome pool is rare, and this Pal has two of them on the same routes, so a rare route run in the volcano is worth more than a desert sweep even though the desert has 82 pins and the eggs have none.
◆It spawns across 82 desert points at levels 35 to 45, with a Cherry Blossom Cave alpha at 51 to 52, and it carries a climbing speed passive that the base form does not have.
◆Its work set is not the base form set with a coat of paint. Gorirat Terra loses Lumbering entirely and gains Mining 3, so a lumber yard built around the base form gets nothing from this one.
Why bother
Gorirat Terra is the mining half of the family: Mining 3 and Transporting 3 on one body, plus Handiwork 2, and every catch drops 2 to 3 Ore on top. Full-Power Gorilla Pound is a passive rather than an activated buff, raising your climbing speed by 50 percent while it sits in the party, which changes how the cliffs on this island read.
