The flower-headed Gumoss is its own Pal with its own Paldeck slot, 12B. Catching this one does not fill it, and it has 23 mapped points against 160 for this one.
Only four results share the Windswept Hills Verdant Egg pool, so a quarter of those eggs are a Gumoss. The Huge variant is far worse, at roughly 1.5 percent.

Thirty pairs land on Gumoss, which is unusually many for a starter Pal. That makes it a convenient stepping stone in a passive chain, and a waste of Cake if you only want one.

Where does Gumoss spawn in Palworld 1.0?
Across the Windswept Hills, the Fortress Ruins and the eastern islands, at levels 2 to 9. The Windswept Island patch has the most points, 55 of 160, but the eastern spawner has better odds per encounter.
Where is the Alpha Gumoss?
One field boss exists, at [-113, -628] near the Sea Breeze Archipelago, at level 11. There is no second field boss and no raid tier for Gumoss.
What is the Gumoss with the flower on its head?
Gumoss (Special), Paldeck 12B, a separate Pal with only 23 mapped spawn points. It drops 3 Beautiful Flowers on top of the usual Berry Seeds and shares the same stats and skills.
What is Gumoss weak to?
Fire and Grass. It is Grass and Ground at the same time, so Fire punishes the Grass half and Grass punishes the Ground half. Bringing a Grass Pal makes the fight worse.
Is Gumoss worth keeping?
For the party slot, yes. Logging Assistance cuts all wood weight by 40 percent and raises logging efficiency by 30 percent, which matters far more than its Planting level 1 at the base.
