The Ice variant is its own Pal in slot 15B. It swaps Electric for Ice, Generating Electricity for Cooling, and Jolt Bomb for Cold Bomb, and it spawns at levels 10 to 24 in different places entirely.

In the Windswept Hills around [74, -472], at levels 4 to 9. That western cluster holds 52 of its 72 mapped points and contains the spawner where Jolthog is the only possible result.
Is Jolthog destroyed when you throw it?
It is equipped, thrown and detonates for Electric damage, then goes on a 60 second cooldown. You keep the Pal, so the only cost of using Jolt Bomb is the wait.
Which egg hatches a Jolthog?
The Large Electric Egg from the Windswept Hills pool, which has exactly one outcome and gives Jolthog every time. The standard Electric Egg is a coin flip between two results.
Is Jolthog good for generating electricity?
It is level 1, which is the minimum. It will run an early generator, and every Electric Pal you catch later will replace it. Its value is Jolt Bomb, not the power line.
How do I get the blue Jolthog?
That is Jolthog Cryst, Paldeck 15B, a separate Ice Pal with only 70 mapped points at levels 10 to 24. Catching plain Jolthog does not fill its Paldeck slot.
