Where to find the two parents
Katress Ignis is the child, so the map shows the work you actually have to do: every Katress spawn, the Wixen patch on Sakurajima, and the level 28 Wixen alpha.

There are 15 mapped points at levels 40 to 45, and every one of them is inside the Cherry Blossom Cave on Sakurajima. There is no open ground to walk.
The Bamboo Groves pool is the narrowest route in: three outcomes on the Large Dark Egg and a single outcome on the Huge Dark Egg, which makes that one a guarantee. Finding the eggs is the hard part.

Fire Cult camps 02-01 and 02-02 field one Katress Ignis each, in the third floor corridor and the south west tower. No level is listed for either encounter, so treat this as something that happens to you.
Male Katress with female Wixen produces Wixen Noct, Paldeck 78B. It is a different Pal in a different slot, and getting it by accident is the most common way this breed goes wrong.

What two Pals make Katress Ignis?
A female Katress and a male Wixen. This is the only pair in the game where gender decides the result: the same two species with the genders swapped give Wixen Noct.
Can you catch Katress Ignis in the wild?
Only underground. All 15 of its mapped points are inside the Cherry Blossom Cave on Sakurajima, at levels 40 to 45, with a Boss rank alpha at 51 to 52.
What level do I need to breed one?
Enough to handle a level 23 Wixen, or its level 28 alpha. Katress opens at level 20, so the Wixen half is the gate, and both parents are ordinary main island Pals.
What is Katress Ignis weak to?
It is Dark and Fire, so Dragon answers the Dark half and Water answers the Fire half. Water is the safer pick because it also blunts the burn its attacks apply.
Is Katress Ignis worth breeding?
For a base, yes. Its partner skill raises Kindling by one level for every other Base Pal, which is the cheapest way to push a furnace line up a tier without recatching anything.
