Kelpsea Ignis: Location and How to Get It

Fifty mapped points sit on the volcanic coast at levels 20 to 35, with 21 of them in one patch. If you would rather not travel, a fishing rod in almost any river reaches it too.

The three patches on the volcanic coast

All 50 mapped Kelpsea Ignis points, in three clusters along the south western coast and inland towards Mount Obsidian. This is one of the smallest wild populations in the early Paldeck.

One hundred and seventy four pairs produce one, and the cheapest parents are Turtacle from level 5 and Amione from level 9. The farm itself is the gate: a level 19 technology costing 2 Ancient Technology Points, then a Cake per egg. Worth it when you want to choose the level and the passives.

Volcanic Cavern alpha

The Volcanic Cavern boss room fields an alpha at levels 36 to 38, or a group of two to three at 32 to 35. Higher stats than anything on the surface, and it is the only dungeon that carries this Pal.

Kelpsea is a different Pal

The base form is Water, it holds Watering 1 instead of Kindling 1, and its Ranch drop is Aquatic Pal Fluids. It has 159 points at levels 9 to 17, so it is a much earlier catch. Owning it does not fill this slot.

◆The Volcanic Cavern alpha sits at levels 36 to 38, with the non-alpha group at 32 to 35, so plan for the lower number.
◆Fifty points is a small population and it is spread over three clusters. If the largest patch is empty, waiting there beats driving to the 6 point cluster inland.
◆The Fire form loses Watering and gains Kindling. Swapping a Kelpsea for a Kelpsea Ignis at a base with crops will stop the watering line.
Why bother
Kelpsea Ignis is a Ranch body that pays in Flame Organ, which is the bottleneck material for every early Fire recipe. It carries Kindling 1 and Farming 1, so it doubles as a furnace hand, and Lava Spout adds 15 percent Attack to Fire Pals in your party.
