Kitsun Noct: Location, Breeding and Drops

Hunt the Feybreak plateau. Three tables there carry 353 mapped points and give Kitsun Noct about 11 percent of every roll, at levels 61 to 66, with a level 65 field boss on the ridge above them.

Every Kitsun Noct spawn on the Feybreak plateau

All 354 points sit on one plateau in the Feybreak region, spread over three tables that behave almost identically. The pinned field boss is the only guaranteed one, and it stands on a spawner that carries no other Pal.

The route
1Get to the Feybreak plateau firstEvery Kitsun Noct in the game is here. There is no main island population, no sanctuary population and no World Tree spawn, so the region unlock is the real gate rather than the level.354 of 354 points, one region
2Bring Dragon damage and a lot of healthKitsun Noct is pure Dark, so Dragon answers it. The band runs 61 to 66 and Splatterina, Croajiro Noct and Prunelia share the ground, so you will be fighting through the table rather than picking a target.Dark, weak to Dragon
3Throw Giga Spheres or betterA level 61 to 66 rarity 6 Pal will break out of anything cheaper. Kitsun Noct is nocturnal, so it is also more active and harder to pin down after dark, though it spawns at all hours, not only at night.Lv 61 to 66, rarity 6
4Take the level 65 field boss for a certain oneThe single field boss stands on the Emberstone Plateau on a spawner that carries no other Pal, so the spot is a Kitsun Noct every time. It respawns on server restart, which makes a failed attempt cost nothing.Lv 65, 1 field boss
5Or clear the Feybreak Cavern for a cheaper alphaThe cave boss table fields Kitsun Noct as an alpha at levels 56 to 58, five levels below anything in the open world here. It is a guaranteed alpha roll, but the table is shared, so expect to reroll the cave.Lv 56 to 58, the lowest in the game

Kitsun with Nyafia, the only pair

One cross-species pair produces a Kitsun Noct. It costs level 50, but Nyafia lives on the same plateau you are already standing on, so the saving is in the level of the result rather than in reaching it earlier.

The Lone Wolf side quest includes a defeat step that targets Kitsun Noct. It is a scripted encounter rather than a farmable one, so treat it as a free attempt you get on the way through rather than a route.

Dark Eggs from Tenraku

Two Tenraku pools carry it and both hold seven outcomes, so a Large Dark Egg gives it 12.9 percent and a Huge Dark Egg 14.29 percent. Worth opening any you find, not worth farming when the wild share is close to the same number.

Kitsun is a different Pal

The base form fills Paldeck 111 and is pure Fire with an Ice resistance skill instead of a Dark one. Its 31 points sit below the Frostbound Mountains at level 34, so catching one is the first step towards this Pal rather than a substitute.

Paldeck 111 against 111BLv 34 against Lv 61How to get Kitsun
All three plateau tables give Kitsun Noct between 10.99 and 11.86 percent, so there is no better patch to walk to, only more of the same ground.
The cheapest guaranteed Kitsun Noct is not the field boss. The Feybreak Cavern cave alpha sits at levels 56 to 58 against 65 for the field boss, so the cave is nine levels cheaper if you are willing to reroll the dungeon for it.
The field boss stands on the Emberstone Plateau at level 65, separate from the Feybreak Cavern alpha at levels 56 to 58. Those are two different encounters, not one.
Why bother
Gloomhowl is the Dark counterpart to its base form: riding one cuts Dark damage taken by 15 percent for you and your whole party and makes all of you immune to Blind, which is the status the Feybreak plateau throws around most. It also upgrades the base work from Kindling 3 to Kindling 4, and it drops Dark Fragment that the base form never does.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where does Kitsun Noct spawn in Palworld 1.0?

Only on the Feybreak plateau, across 354 mapped points at levels 61 to 66. There is no main island population and no sanctuary population, so the region unlock is the gate rather than the level.

Where is the Kitsun Noct alpha?

There is one field boss, on the Emberstone Plateau at level 65, standing on a spawner that carries no other Pal. The Feybreak Cavern also fields a cave alpha at levels 56 to 58, which is the lowest in the game.

What two Pals make Kitsun Noct?

Kitsun with Nyafia, and that is the only cross-species pair. The pair costs level 50, but Nyafia lives on the same plateau as Kitsun Noct, so it saves you the level of the result rather than the trip.

How often does a Feybreak spawn roll a Kitsun Noct?

About one in nine. All three plateau tables give it 30 selection weight out of 253 to 273, with Splatterina taking 100 of it. The odds barely change between the three, so pick the nearest patch.

Is Kitsun Noct better than Kitsun?

On the plateau, yes. It carries Kindling 4 against Kindling 3, drops Dark Fragment, and its mount skill cuts Dark damage and blocks Blind rather than Ice and Freeze, which is what Feybreak actually inflicts.
