Loupmoon: Location and How to Get It

Wait for dark and walk the ground at [-235, -176]. The table under it gives Loupmoon 43.9 percent of every roll at levels 15 to 18, three times its share in the larger cluster to the north.

Every Loupmoon spawn on the map

One of the largest wild lists in the game, and almost all of it is nocturnal. The three pins are the densest clusters, but they are not equally worth walking, because the tables underneath them differ by a factor of six.

The Astral Mountains rare pool on the Dark Egg holds exactly one outcome and that outcome is Loupmoon, so every one of those hatches into this Pal. The common pool in the same region is two outcomes at 50 percent. Open them on the spot rather than carrying them home.

The only daytime Loupmoon

Three Mountain Stream Grotto tables field Loupmoon without the night flag: a Monster spawn and a Normal spawn at levels 20 to 23, and Boss and MidBoss spawns at 22 to 25 with an alpha at 27 to 29. Those 120 points are the entire daytime population of the species.

Loupmoon Cryst is a different Pal

Paldeck 56B is Ice rather than Dark, carries Handiwork 4 and Cooling 4 where this one has Handiwork 2, and its wild ground starts at level 40 in the snow. Catching it does not fill this slot, and a Loupmoon is one of its two parents.

◆Point counts lie on this page more than on most. The 259 point group at Crescent Moon Shore gives Loupmoon 30 of 206 weight, and the 158 point group in the bamboo gives it 200 of 456. The smaller patch is three times more likely to produce one, and ten levels lower.
◆These are selection weights, not observed catch rates. They rank two patches against each other, they do not predict how long a hunt takes.
◆Dark Gleam Strike does not stack. A second Loupmoon in the party adds nothing to the 15 percent melee attack speed, so catch one for the party and leave the rest.
Why bother
Loupmoon is a melee support pick. Dark Gleam Strike raises the attack speed of your melee weapons by 15 percent while it is in the party, and firing it throws a Jumping Claw with a 1.1x multiplier on a 30 second cooldown. It does not stack, so one is the whole benefit. On a base it has Handiwork 2 and nothing else, and every catch gives 1 Bone.
