Mau appears in Hillside Cavern, the three Isolated Island Caverns and Meadow 01 as an ordinary spawn at 5 to 10 and as an alpha at 10 to 13, plus Ravine Grotto at 12 to 15. Caves are a denser hunting ground than the surface here.
Mau is in zero egg pools of any element or size. Hatching Dark Eggs will give you Hoocrates, Daedream, Depresso, Caprity Noct, Nox, Tombat or Wispaw, and never this Pal.
10 combinations produce a Mau, one of the smallest counts in the early Paldeck and a tenth of what Melpaca has. Most of them use starter Pals, so the list is short rather than hard.

Where do you find Mau in Palworld 1.0?
On 126 mapped overworld points at levels 5 to 15. Windswept Island holds 56 of them, the ground at [-188, -400] holds 20, and the Sea Breeze Archipelago holds 12.
Does Mau only spawn in dungeons?
No. Mau appears in six caverns as well, but the overworld population is real and it is where most players catch their first one.
How do you farm Gold Coins with Mau?
Assign it to a Ranch. Gold Digger has it dig up Gold Coins on its own while it is working there. The skill does nothing while Mau is in your party.
Can you hatch a Mau from an egg?
No. Mau appears in zero egg pools of any element or size, which is unusual for a Pal this early. Wild capture, a cavern, or one of 10 breeding pairs are the only routes.
Is Mau Cryst just a white Mau?
No. It is Paldeck 27B, it is Ice rather than Dark, it lives in the Astral Mountains at levels 39 to 41, and it has Cooling where Mau has Gathering.
