How to Breed Mau Cryst

Put a Mau and a Pengullet in a Breeding Farm. Both are starting-area catches at levels 5 and 2, which is 34 levels below the wild population at 39 to 41.

Where to find the two parents

Mau Cryst is the child, so the map shows what you actually have to go and get. Every mapped Pengullet point is drawn, with the densest Mau patch pinned beside it. The two parents share the same starting hills.

The wild population is real: 15 mapped points at levels 39 to 41, six of them at [-241, 367]. It is the thinnest wild list in this part of the Paldeck and it needs Cold Resistance armour, so it is worth doing only if you are already up there.

The base form is Paldeck 27, it is Dark, it lives in the starting hills at levels 5 to 15, and its Ranch skill digs up Gold Coins rather than Ice Organ. Catching this does not fill that slot.

◆It is not breeding-only, and it is not wild-only. Both routes work, which is why the two accounts you will find elsewhere each look half right.
◆Pengullet plus Mau makes this Pal. Kingpaca plus Reindrix makes Kingpaca Cryst. Those two are the Cryst combinations people swap by mistake.
Why bother
Icy Whispers produces Ice Organ on a Ranch, which is the material behind cooling gear and refrigerated food and is otherwise a trip to the snow every time you run out. Mau Cryst also has Cooling level 1 and drops a Sapphire at 1 percent, which its Dark form never does.
