Pierdon has 16 mapped points in the whole game and all 16 are on Flamepulse Islet, on a single spawner group shared with only Blazamut and Skutlass Ignis. Its own level 50 field boss stands 0.13 km away, so one flight covers both.

The cheapest is Ghangler with Mammorest at about level 30, which scores 12 levels below the wild band. In practice you are trading a two in five roll on a known islet for two parents, a farm and a Cake. Breed only when you want a chosen level or a passive set.

Pierdon appears in zero egg pools of any size or element. Hatching Rocky Eggs will never produce one, which is worth knowing before you stockpile them.
The Ice variant is Paldeck 131B, it adds Cooling 6 that this Pal does not have, and it lives in the Sunreach sky islands rather than on a volcano. Catching it does not fill this slot, and a Pierdon is one of its two parents.
There are no raid tiers, quest steps, camp squads, dungeon spawns or fishing pools for Pierdon. The islet and its boss are the entire wild story.

Why does Pierdon feel rare with only 16 spawn points?
It is not rare, it is concentrated. Those 16 points run one spawner shared with just Blazamut and Skutlass Ignis, and Pierdon holds 42.86 percent of the selection weight, so roughly two rolls in five are a Pierdon.
What is Pierdon weak to?
Grass. Pierdon is pure Ground, and Ground takes extra damage from Grass and nothing else. Bring a Grass Pal and a ranged Grass attack.
Should I breed a Pierdon instead of catching one?
Only for a specific level or passive set. 270 pairs produce one and the cheapest is Ghangler with Mammorest around level 30, but that is two parents and a Cake against one flight to a known islet.
What does Pierdon drop?
Ore, Coal and Sulfur, 4 to 5 of each, at 100 percent every time. Sulfur in particular is worth the trip, and Pierdon also works Mining at level 5 back at base.
