Pierdon Cryst is the child, so this map shows the pair. Wumpo carries the heat because it has 52 mapped points in the Astral Mountains against 16 for Pierdon, and Pierdon is pinned twice: its spawn patch and its own level 50 field boss, both on Flamepulse Islet.

For base work, yes. It keeps Mining 5 and adds Cooling 6, which Pierdon does not have at any level. For drops they differ: Pierdon gives Ore, Coal and Sulfur, this one gives Soralite, Ice Organ and Pure Quartz.
