How to Breed Quivern

Do not hunt it. Quivern has 433 mapped points and takes under 5 percent of the roll on every main island spawner. Breed Grizzbolt with Leafan, or hatch an Astral Mountains Large Dragon Egg.

Where to find the two parents, and why not to hunt

The heat is Leafan, the cheaper parent, because that is the trip actually worth planning. The third pin is the best Quivern ground on the main island, marked so you can see how thin it is before you fly there.

Every Astral Mountains Large Dragon Egg is a Quivern

Both Astral Mountains pools on the Large Dragon Egg hold exactly one outcome, and it is this Pal. The Huge Dragon Egg rare route pool is the same, one outcome, alpha. This is the only route here with no lottery in it at all.

Astral Mountains Cavern alpha

The cavern boss room can be a Quivern alpha at levels 42 to 45, which is above anything the open snow offers at that level. It is 1 of 28 entries on that table, so it is a bonus on a run you were doing anyway.

Quivern Botan is a different Pal

The Botan form fills Paldeck 124B, is Dragon and Grass rather than pure Dragon, and swaps Transporting 5 for Planting 5. It is also bred from this one crossed with Lullu, so catching a Quivern is the first step towards it rather than a substitute.

◆The shares here are selection weights, not observed catch rates. They are why a 433 point heatmap is not the good news it looks like: no group in the game gives Quivern more than 7.18 percent of a roll, and the main island ceiling is 4.83 percent.
◆The 21 further points listed in the World Tree at level 80 are the shared aura table, 72 Pals over 21 coordinates, so 1 in 72 of one roll. That is not a fifth population and not a place to go.
◆Sky Dragon Affection does not stack, so a second Quivern in the party adds nothing to the first. Breed for passives instead, which is the one thing the guaranteed egg nest cannot give you.
Why bother
Quivern is a four suitability worker on top of being a flying mount, which is unusual: Transporting 5, Mining 4, Gathering 3 and Handiwork 2 out of one Pal slot. Sky Dragon Affection raises the Attack of every Dragon Pal in your party by 15 percent, and it does not stack, so one is all you need. Every catch also drops the full Ancient Relic ladder, from 30 to 50 Decayed down to a 25 percent Glistening.
