Quivern Botan: Location and How to Get It

Skip the Astral Mountains patch, where it is 3.11 percent of the roll. Hunt the Sakurajima cherry woods at levels 53 to 55 instead, where it is 20.62 percent.

Both Quivern Botan patches, and which one to walk

Only two spawner groups in the game carry this Pal and they are nothing alike. The smaller, earlier one in the Astral Mountains is a 12 Pal lottery. The Sakurajima woods are a 7 Pal table where Quivern Botan is the second heaviest entry.

The Astral Mountains pool holds 3 outcomes and gives Quivern Botan 62.5 percent. The Sakurajima pool of the same egg holds 4 and gives it 34.88 percent. Both beat the ground under them, so pick up every Huge Dragon Egg you pass.

One recipe, and it costs the same as hunting

Only 2 pairs exist and one is the self pair, so the only recipe is Quivern with Lullu. Lullu is itself a level 40 catch and Quivern a level 40 one, so the pair costs 40 against a level 45 wild band. Use it to set passives, not to arrive earlier.

Cherry Blossom Cave alpha

The Cherry Blossom Cave boss room can hold a Quivern Botan alpha at levels 51 to 52, its only guaranteed high level encounter. It is 1 of the 31 entries on that table, and unlike most Pals there it has no lower non-alpha entry to fall back on.

Quivern is a different Pal

Quivern fills Paldeck 124 and is pure Dragon with Transporting 5. This one fills 124B, adds Grass, and trades that for Planting 5. Quivern is also one half of the only pair that breeds this one, so it is a prerequisite rather than a substitute.

◆Two groups, 12 competitors against 7, is the entire reason the later patch is worth waiting for.
◆The 21 further points in the World Tree at level 80 are the shared aura table, 72 Pals over 21 coordinates, so 1 in 72 of one roll. It is not a third patch.
◆Quivern Botan has no field boss anywhere, so there is no guaranteed open world encounter. The Cherry Blossom Cave alpha and the egg nests are the only two ways to get one without winning a spawn roll.
Why bother
Planting 5 is the reason to own one, and only 10 Pals in the game reach that tier. It stacks four more jobs on top, Gathering 4, Transporting 4 and Mining 3, out of a single base slot. Grass Dragon Affection also makes it a flying mount that switches your own attacks to Grass for 5 percent more Attack, and every catch drops 2 to 3 Beautiful Flower.

Rarely. The level 45 patch is 10 points on a 12 Pal table, about one spawn in 31. Eight levels later the Sakurajima woods give you one in five, so the wait usually costs less time than the hunt does.

What two Pals make Quivern Botan?

Quivern with Lullu, and that is the only cross-species pair in the game. Both parents are level 40 catches, so breeding costs about what hunting does and buys you control of the level instead.

What is Quivern Botan weak to?

Ice against the Dragon half and Fire against the Grass half. Ice is the better single pick because it also covers the other Dragons sharing that Sakurajima table.
