Skutlass Ignis: Location and How to Get It

Go to Flamepulse Islet at [782, 442] from level 40. Sixteen points there give it 28.57 percent of a three Pal table, and fishing the same water gives 33.33 percent.

Every mapped Skutlass Ignis in the game sits on a single volcanic islet, and the fishing pool that carries it sits in the water around the same rocks. The second pin is the parent that makes the breeding route possible, for anyone who would rather not fly out there.

Island Volcano A Common has exactly 3 standard entries, Finsider Ignis, Ghangler Ignis and Skutlass Ignis, at 94 weight each. That is 33.33 percent per cast at levels 40 to 45, better than the ground it sits beside, and it does not have to respawn. The B pool repeats it at levels 65 to 69.

Skutlass is a different Pal, and a parent

Skutlass fills Paldeck 128 and is pure Water with a 2600 Attack katana. This one fills 128B, adds Fire and Kindling 3, and hits for 2900. The base form is also half of the only recipe that breeds this one, so it is a prerequisite rather than a substitute.

◆The shares here are selection weights, not observed catch rates. The islet spawner totals 7 weight across 3 Pals, the smallest table in this part of the Paldeck, which is why 16 points is enough.
◆The katana form is a timer. Hold it too long, or use Iaigiri, and the Skutlass Ignis is knocked out. The upgrade over the base form is 300 Attack and nothing else about the risk changes.
◆World Tree fishing pools also carry this Pal at levels 71 to 79, rated Impossible for difficulty. Treat those spots as a curiosity rather than a route.
Why bother
Seared Fish Fillet is the upgraded katana: 2900 Attack against the base form 2600, for 10 seconds on a 10 second cooldown, with the same knockout penalty if you hold the form too long or use Iaigiri. It also carries four work suitabilities instead of the base form three, adding Kindling 3, and its drop table is unusually rich for a level 40 Pal, with a 50 percent chance of both World Tree Holy Water and Water Radiant Gem.
