Pocketpair's v1.0.3 notes use the phrase "reduced the materials required" and its variants five separate times, and never once print a quantity. That is the whole patch for most players: you know something got cheaper, you just have no idea whether it is worth respeccing your build order over.
It is. Two of these cuts halve a material outright, one deletes a hard endgame gate, and one drops a work requirement by a factor of a thousand. Below is every changed figure, with the old values pulled from the 1.0 game data and the new ones from the v1.0.3 data.
Every changed cost in one table#
| Unlock | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Jetragon's Missile Launcher | Level 79, 60 Paloxite Ingot, 24 AI Core | Level 70, 48 Soralite Ingot, 12 AI Core |
| Aquatic Construction Kit | Level 66, 4 Ancient Points | Level 23, 1 Ancient Point |
| Crude Oil Extractor | 250 Pal Metal Ingot, 50 Circuit Board | 125 Pal Metal Ingot, 25 Circuit Board |
| High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor | 300 Pal Metal Ingot, 50 Circuit Board, 50 Bio Battery, 10 Ancient Civilization Parts | 150 Pal Metal Ingot, 25 Circuit Board, 25 Bio Battery, 10 Ancient Civilization Parts |
| Large Power Generator | 200 Pal Metal Ingot, 200 Electric Organ | 150 Pal Metal Ingot, 150 Electric Organ |
Leather and Paldium Fragment on the Jetragon recipe did not move. Neither did the 10 Ancient Civilization Parts on the high-pressure extractor. Everything else on this list got cheaper.
Jetragon's Missile Launcher lost its World Tree paywall#
The level change is the part everyone noticed, but it is the smaller half of this fix.
You can capture Jetragon at level 70. Before this patch the Pal Gear that makes it worth riding sat at level 79, so there was a nine level stretch where you owned the best flyer in the game and could not arm it. That gap is now closed.
The material swap matters more. The old recipe wanted 60 Paloxite Ingot, and Paloxite is World Tree material. You could hit level 70, capture Jetragon, walk to the technology screen, and still be unable to craft the launcher because you had not cleared the endgame zone that drops its ingredient. The new recipe asks for Soralite Ingot instead, which comes from the Sky Islands and is reachable far earlier.
- Leather×70
- Soralite Ingot×48
- AI Core×12
- Paldium Fragment×210
The AI Core count also halves, from 24 to 12. Twelve is a meaningful number rather than a farming project, and combined with the ingredient swap it turns the launcher from a post-World-Tree trophy into something you craft the same evening you catch the Pal.
The Aquatic Construction Kit is the largest cut in the patch#
This one deserves its own breakdown, so here is the short version and the full story is in our Aquatic Construction Kit guide.
The kit moves from level 66 to level 23 and from four Ancient Technology Points to one. Its recipe drops from 200 Cement, 50 Coralum Ingot and 100 High Quality Wooden Board to 30 Cement, 10 Ingot and 15 Wooden Board. The work requirement goes from 600,000 to 600.
A thousandfold cut to a work requirement is not a balance tweak. It is Pocketpair conceding that nobody was building on water.
Crude oil got cheaper to build and faster to run#
The oil pass is the most coherent group in the patch, because it moves three numbers in the same direction at once: the extractors cost less, the generator that powers them costs less, and both extractors pull oil faster.
Halving Pal Metal Ingot on both extractors is the headline. Pal Metal is the bottleneck for an oil setup, not the circuits, so cutting 250 to 125 and 300 to 150 is what actually shortens the runway. The Large Power Generator's 25 percent cut is smaller in percentage terms but lands on 200 Electric Organ, which is a genuinely tedious farm.
There is also a quiet mission fix worth knowing: the base mission that asks for a Crude Oil Extractor now accepts the high-pressure version. Players who had already skipped ahead to the better machine were building an inferior one purely to satisfy a checklist.
If you are planning a rebuild around the new figures, the resource planner will cost the whole chain out for you.
What is a real buff and what is only a fix#
Three of the most discussed v1.0.3 changes are not buffs at all, and reading them as buffs will leave you disappointed.
- Summoned Pals no longer stop fighting or stop helping with base work. These are reliability fixes. Your Pals do not deal more damage or work faster, they simply stop dropping out. The gain is recovered uptime, which is real but does not show up on any stat.
- Orserk's Partner Skill display in multiplayer. The effect was activating correctly all along, the client just failed to draw it. Nothing about Orserk got stronger.
- Alpha Surfent produces Leather at a Ranch. This one is a genuine gain. Normal Surfent already worked, the Alpha did not, and now it does.
The other real buff is Fiber. Trees now give double, which does nothing for an established base and quite a lot for a fresh save or a new outpost where you are hauling Fiber in by hand.
What to do with the new numbers#
- Craft Jetragon's Missile Launcher at level 70 instead of banking Paloxite for it
- Recost any planned oil expansion, the Pal Metal requirement is now half
- Rebuild Large Power Generators you deferred over the Electric Organ cost
- Unlock the Aquatic Construction Kit early on any new save
- Stop building a normal extractor just to clear the base mission
The through line in all of this is that Pocketpair moved the walls, not the ceiling. Nothing here makes an endgame build stronger. What it does is delete the stretches where you had met a requirement on paper and still could not act on it, which was the single most common complaint about 1.0 progression.
