The biggest fixes in v1.0.2#

The most important changes focus on keeping multiplayer sessions stable and preventing progress from getting stuck:

  1. Dedicated servers should no longer disconnect every player or crash individual players during the Panthalus battle.
  2. Multiplayer terrain, boss teleportation, and final-boss respawn visuals have been corrected.
  3. Two missions can no longer leave the screen permanently faded when dialogue is interrupted.
  4. Achievement tracking has been repaired for Predator Hunter and Pal Effigies.
  5. Sunreach now places less processing load on the game, improving performance in the region.

Players exploring the new endgame can pair these fixes with our World Tree guide and Sunreach overview.

Full Palworld v1.0.2 patch notes#

Crashes and disconnections#

  • Fixed an issue where all players could be disconnected during the Panthalus battle on dedicated servers.
  • Fixed an issue where players could crash during the Panthalus battle on dedicated servers.
  • Fixed an issue where the game could crash when attempting Japanese text input in fullscreen mode.

Multiplayer#

  • Fixed an issue where, if a player was already in The World Tree area when the host transitioned to The World Tree area, the terrain could fail to display correctly from the host's perspective.
  • Fixed an issue where the Tower Boss "Victor & Shadowbeak" could disappear after using a teleportation attack during battle.
  • Fixed an issue in the final boss battle where, if the host defeated the final boss while a guest was waiting to respawn, the guest's light could fail to display correctly after respawning.

Missions#

  • Fixed an issue in the main mission "The First Islander" where the screen could remain faded out if dialogue was interrupted during a fade-out sequence.
  • Fixed an issue in the sub-mission "Captured Adventurer" where the screen could remain faded out if dialogue was interrupted during a fade-out sequence.

Achievements#

  • Fixed an issue where the "Predator Hunter" achievement could fail to unlock even after meeting its requirements.
  • Fixed an issue where the corresponding achievement could fail to unlock even after obtaining the required Pal Effigies.
  • Fixed an issue on Xbox where the icons for two Lifmunk Effigy-related achievements were using outdated versions.

Graphics and display#

  • Fixed an issue on Mac where the terrain graphics in The World Tree area could be heavily distorted, preventing normal gameplay.
  • Fixed an issue where the eye area of the player model could display incorrectly during cutscenes or certain player actions when using specific face types.

Controls#

  • Added key rebinding for "Attack that enemy!" and "Inventory".
  • Fixed an issue where, when carrying over settings from versions earlier than v0.7, changes unrelated to Controls could still be treated as control setting conflicts.
  • Fixed an issue where assigning a player action to the middle mouse button could incorrectly be treated as a conflict, preventing the setting from being applied.
  • Fixed an issue where the Inventory Shortcut option was not displayed in Controls.

UI#

  • Fixed an issue where the damage number displayed when destroying ore while mining could sometimes appear as 0.

Performance improvements#

  • Reduced the processing load during gameplay in Sunreach and improved performance.

What players should check after updating#

The patch is primarily corrective, so there is no new progression step to unlock. After installing v1.0.2, dedicated-server groups can retry the Panthalus encounter, players with stalled achievements can check their unlock state, and anyone carrying older settings can revisit the Controls menu.

  • Update Palworld to v1.0.2
  • Restart dedicated servers before the next group session
  • Review custom keybinds and the Inventory Shortcut option
  • Recheck Predator Hunter and Pal Effigy achievement progress
  • Test Sunreach performance with the same graphics settings
