How a Hack Terminal works
Ancient Ruins are the tall, weathered tower sites scattered across the main world. The Hack Terminal inside starts one of five challenges. The basic ruin flow stays the same even when the challenge changes:
- 1Reach an Ancient Shrine
Use a marker in the interactive map below and look for the ruined tower structure.
- 2Activate the Hack Terminal
Read the objective shown on screen before moving away from the console.
- 3Complete the challenge
Route power, break seals, win the battle, or clear the timing test.
- 4Return to the Core Panel
A completed challenge unlocks the reward panel; interact with it to collect the loot.

All five Hack Terminal challenges
| Challenge | What the terminal wants | Reliable solution |
|---|---|---|
| Power panel | Send power from the source to the Core Panel | Make one continuous path that covers every gray tile before reaching the Core Panel. |
| Sealing Stones | Remove the seals around the ruin | Find and damage all three stones, including any tucked behind the structure, then return to the panel. |
| Pal battle | Defeat the summoned Pal before time expires | Use both your active Pal and weapons; the timer is 60 seconds. |
| Spinning lock | Stop the moving cursor in the green zone | Press the prompted input only while the cursor overlaps green; repeat for each stage. |
| Vulnerable spot | Find the hidden target on the circle | Probe the rim, follow the color feedback, and use the percentage as a hot-or-cold reading until it reaches the target. |
Power panel: cover every tile
Start at the lit Power Source and build a single route through the grid. Every gray panel must be part of the route, and the final connection must enter the Core Panel. Work backward from narrow corners before committing to the middle; a tile with only one useful exit is usually where a failed route strands itself.
The board changes from one terminal to the next. If your route isolates an unused tile, reset and start from the narrow corners first.
Sealing Stones: check behind the ruin
Three Sealing Stones spawn around the Ancient Ruin. Damage each one with a weapon or Pal attack. The obvious stones are usually visible from the tower, while the last is easy to miss behind terrain or the rear wall. Circle the structure once before assuming the objective is bugged.

Pal battle: treat it as a 60-second damage check
The terminal summons a Pal and starts a one-minute timer. Summon your strongest combat Pal immediately and keep attacking with your own weapon instead of watching the matchup play out. If your target is too durable, leave, improve your damage setup, and retry rather than spending the full minute on a losing attempt.

Spinning lock: wait for green
Watch the cursor, not the center animation. Press the prompted input when the cursor overlaps the green slice. Later stages can be less forgiving, but a miss only resets the lock attempt, so slow down and learn the timing instead of trying to anticipate the cursor.

Vulnerable spot: use color and percentage together
Select a point on the circle's outer edge. A blue result means you are searching on the useful side; red means you should move to the other side. The percentage is your distance clue: keep making smaller adjustments in the direction that raises it until you locate the vulnerable spot.

Interactive map: all 106 Ancient Shrine locations
The map below includes all 106 Ancient Shrines. Each pin shows its Core Panel reward and Dog Coin payout. Click any pin for details, or open the full Palworld interactive map to explore the surrounding area.

Every site contributes Dog Coins, but the most useful first stops depend on your build:
- Traversal: Air Walker Mk I, Mk II, Mk III, and EX schematics.
- Combat: weapon schematics, support whistles, resistance rings, pendants, and Pal-specific talismans.
- Base work: Applied Handbooks for Kindling, Watering, Planting, Generating Electricity, Handiwork, Gathering, Lumbering, Mining, Medicine Production, Cooling, and Transporting.
- Permanent character options: the three Disposable Implant rewards in the southern islands.
The listed payouts range from 20 to 50 Dog Coins. Clearing every site shown above yields 3,630 Dog Coins in total. Compare the new weapons, accessories, armor, and implants in our Palworld 1.0 equipment guide, or see the wider free-reward route in our schematics, towers, and mission rewards guide.
