Palworld's best factory worker may not be Anubis anymore.
A new community test shows Alpha Sekhmet tearing through jobs at the Ancient Material Synthesizer with a reported 400% work-speed boost. The machine is supposed to be an endgame bottleneck. Alpha Sekhmet walks up and makes it look like someone turned on creative mode.
What the game data says Sekhmet should do#
Sekhmet is already built to humiliate ordinary Handiwork Pals. She has Handiwork 6, Mining 3, and the passive partner skill Desert Empress.
The normal partner-skill data has two separate effects:
| Desert Empress effect | Rank 1 | Rank 5 |
|---|---|---|
| Work speed for Anubis at the base | 20% | 40% |
| Sekhmet's own speed at related facilities | 30% | 60% |
That second row is the key. Sekhmet's personal facility bonus does not require Anubis to stand beside her. Anubis receives a separate base effect, while Sekhmet boosts herself when she is actively working at a Workbench, Workshop, or related facility.
Current reports say the Alpha version is behaving as if that personal multiplier is dramatically larger, reaching roughly 400% while doing Handiwork or Mining. Players in the new Synthesizer test thread describe crafts finishing almost the instant Sekhmet joins the job.
- Handiwork
- Level 6
- Mining
- Level 3
- Normal max self bonus
- 60%
- Reported Alpha behavior
- About 400%
- Anubis required
- No, for Sekhmet's self bonus
You can compare the complete current kit on the Sekhmet Pal guide and see why this matters against the old default on the Anubis Pal guide.
Why the Synthesizer result is the big one#
Fast workbench crafts are useful. A fast Ancient Material Synthesizer changes the shape of an entire endgame base.
The Synthesizer unlocks at technology level 78. Building one costs 50 Paloxite Ingots and 10 Ancient Civilization Cores, plus a million units of build work. It exists to compress advanced material chains into one premium facility, which also makes every second of Handiwork on that machine more valuable.
The community discovery matters because Desert Empress's facility wording could have left the Synthesizer outside the eligible group. The current test says it is inside. That means the same Alpha worker can cover ordinary benches, ancient workbenches, and the machine that feeds your late-game material economy.
The result is not merely “Sekhmet is a bit faster.” It is “the most expensive workstation in the base stops feeling expensive to operate.”
How to test your Alpha without fooling yourself#
Do not compare two different recipes or two different bases. Work speed is easy to misread when power, pathing, SAN, food buffs, and multiple workers change at the same time.
- 1Pick one repeatable Synthesizer recipe
Use a batch large enough to time for at least 20 seconds with your control worker.
- 2Remove every other Handiwork Pal
You want one worker and one machine, with the base fully powered.
- 3Time a normal Sekhmet or another fixed worker
Record the batch size and completion time.
- 4Assign the Alpha Sekhmet directly
Confirm she is actively working rather than walking, transporting, or eating.
- 5Run the identical batch again
Keep food, SAN, world settings, and machine state unchanged.
If the Alpha batch collapses to a fraction of the control time, you have reproduced the behavior. If the difference is modest, check that the Pal is actually Alpha and that nobody else touched the machine.
One more trap: condensing changes the normal partner-skill rank. Compare like with like if you are trying to measure the Alpha effect itself.
What this changes in a real base#
The obvious move is to place Alpha Sekhmet at the Synthesizer. The better move is to redesign the work cell around the fact that the machine is no longer the slow part.
Your new bottlenecks become:
- Input delivery to the Synthesizer
- Output pickup after a batch completes
- Power uptime
- The upstream supply of Paloxite and ancient materials
- Sekhmet wandering to lower-value jobs
Use direct assignment or the Monitoring Stand to keep her focused. Put an input chest and output chest within the shortest clean path. Then give Transporting Pals enough room to reach both without crossing the work tile.
This is the same lesson behind the strongest discoveries in our Palworld 1.0 mechanics guide: a huge multiplier only matters when the rest of the base can feed it.
Should you farm Alpha Sekhmet now?#
Yes, if you are already in the endgame and can use the output immediately. Even if the reported 400% behavior gets fixed, Alpha Sekhmet remains a Handiwork 6 worker with a strong normal self bonus. You are not left with a useless Pal.
No, if you are abandoning progression just to chase a bug. A patch could arrive before your perfect Alpha is condensed, awakened, and moved into a polished factory.
The smart version of the rush is simple:
- Secure one usable Alpha.
- Test it on your own version and server.
- Put it on the Synthesizer now.
- Avoid rebuilding the entire economy around a multiplier that is not officially documented.
Alpha Sekhmet does not need hype to be elite. The reported bug just turns elite into absurd.
