Palworld zero-weight mining is real, and it only needs two party slots. Pair Reptyro with Reptyro Cryst, craft both saddles, then condense each Pal to three stars to make the game's entire ore category effectively weightless.
The build turns long Chromite, Pure Quartz, Sulfur, Coal, and World Tree farming runs into one clean trip. The catch is that the partner skills do nothing until the correct Pal Gear exists, and duplicate copies of the same variant do not stack.
Once the pair is active, mine until your inventory slots fill, not until the carry limit sends you home.

How the Reptyro mining build works#
Reptyro's Ore-Loving Beast partner skill reduces the weight of every item in Palworld's ore category by 30% at zero stars. Reptyro Cryst's Ice-Loving Beast starts at 35%.
Those are different partner skills on different Pal variants, so they combine. Two normal Reptyro do not combine with each other, and two Reptyro Cryst do not combine with each other. The useful pairing is one of each.
- Party slots
- 2
- Starting reduction
- 65%
- Zero-weight breakpoint
- 3 stars each
- Pal Gear unlocks
- Levels 42 and 43
- Covered category
- All ore-type materials
The result scales with condensation. At three stars, Reptyro reaches 50% and Reptyro Cryst reaches 55%. The combined 105% crosses the zero-weight threshold without forcing either Pal to four stars.
| Stars on each Pal | Reptyro | Reptyro Cryst | Combined reduction | Effective ore weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 30% | 35% | 65% | 35% remains |
| 1 | 35% | 40% | 75% | 25% remains |
| 2 | 40% | 45% | 85% | 15% remains |
| 3 | 50% | 55% | 105% | 0% |
| 4 | 60% | 65% | 125% | 0% |
Three stars each is the efficient stopping point for weight reduction. Four stars still improves the Pals' other rank-based benefits, but it does not make an already weightless stack any lighter.
Craft both saddles or the passives stay off#
The most common reason this Palworld weight reduction build appears broken is missing Pal Gear. Reptyro and Reptyro Cryst must be in the active party, and their saddles must already be crafted in the Pal Gear Workbench.
Reptyro Saddle unlocks at level 42. Reptyro Cryst Saddle follows at level 43. You do not need to ride either Pal while mining, but crafting the gear unlocks the partner-skill effect.
- Leather×44
- Refined Ingot×44
- Flame Organ×20
- Ice Organ×24
- Paldium Fragment×44
Those totals cover both saddles. If you only have one saddle, use the corresponding Pal for a partial reduction while you finish the second recipe.
Which Palworld resources become weightless#
Both partner skills target the current MaterialOre category with no excluded item IDs. That category is wider than the word "ore" suggests.
The pairing covers the major mining resources players routinely haul:
- Ore
- Coal
- Sulfur
- Pure Quartz
- Paldium Fragment
- Chromite
- Hexolite Quartz
- Coralum Ore
- Soralite
- Paloxite
- Nightstar Sand
The same 1.0 category also contains Crude Oil, Ancient Bone, and Ancient Lava. That makes the Reptyro pair useful beyond a traditional pickaxe route, especially when a farming loop mixes deposits, drops, and gathered materials.
This is the main advantage over narrow specialists. Turtacle starts with an 80% reduction, but only for the item named Ore. Turtacle Terra starts with 80% for Coal and Sulfur. The Reptyro pair costs two slots and more condensation, but it follows you across early, mid, and endgame resource routes without a party rebuild.
Build the zero-weight mining party step by step#
You can assemble the complete Palworld zero-weight mining setup as soon as both saddle technologies are available.
- 1Catch or breed one Reptyro and one Reptyro Cryst
Choose targets with passives and IVs you will be happy to keep before spending condensation materials.
- 2Reach levels 42 and 43
Unlock both saddle technologies with two Technology Points each.
- 3Craft both saddles
The partner skills will not activate from party placement alone.
- 4Put both Pals in the active party
Base assignment and Palbox storage do not apply the trainer weight reduction.
- 5Condense each Pal to three stars
This raises the reductions to 50% and 55%, enough to cross 100% together.
- 6Pick up an ore-category item and inspect it
Confirm the blue reduction indicator appears before starting a long route.
- 7Save the last three party slots for the route
Add a mount, Fuddler for Stone, Gumoss for wood, or a combat Pal based on the destination.
Use the Palworld interactive map to build a loop around the material you need. Open the Reptyro Palpedia page and Reptyro Cryst Palpedia page for current stats, partner-skill ranks, and spawn context.
Best third, fourth, and fifth party slots#
The Reptyro pair solves ore weight, not the whole farming route. The other three party slots decide how fast and safely you finish the loop.
| Slot goal | Recommended Pal type | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Stone farming | Fuddler | Raises player mining efficiency and reduces Stone weight by 80% at zero stars, up to 100% at four stars |
| Wood farming | Gumoss | Raises logging efficiency and reduces all wood weight by 40% at zero stars |
| Route speed | Fast mount | Cuts travel time between distant deposits and fast-travel points |
| Dangerous zones | Combat carry | Protects the route without asking either Reptyro to do every fight |
| Chromite runs | Resource specialist | Add a Pal whose partner skill improves the specific material loop you are running |
A strong general loadout is Reptyro, Reptyro Cryst, Fuddler, Gumoss, and your best mount. That party removes ore weight, nearly solves Stone, cuts wood weight, and keeps a travel option available.
If you care more about output per node than mixed materials, replace Gumoss with a mining specialist. The PalMods Team Builder lets you compare the current partner-skill values at the condensation ranks you actually own.
Why the build still feels broken sometimes#
Run these checks before assuming the save or partner skill is bugged:
- Confirm both Pals are in the five-slot party, not stationed at a base.
- Confirm Reptyro Saddle and Reptyro Cryst Saddle have both been crafted.
- Use one normal and one Cryst variant. Duplicate copies of one variant do not stack.
- Test an item in the ore category, not Stone or wood.
- Look for the adjusted-weight indicator instead of reading only the base item weight.
- Remove and re-add the Pals after crafting missing gear, then pick up a fresh stack.
- Catch or breed Reptyro
- Catch or breed Reptyro Cryst
- Craft Reptyro Saddle at level 42
- Craft Reptyro Cryst Saddle at level 43
- Condense both Pals to three stars
- Confirm both are in the active party
- Test the reduction on an ore-category item
Palworld zero-weight mining FAQ#
Does Reptyro weight reduction stack?#
Reptyro does not stack with another Reptyro, and Reptyro Cryst does not stack with another Reptyro Cryst. One normal Reptyro does combine with one Reptyro Cryst because the variants use distinct partner skills. That mixed pair is the core of the Palworld zero-weight mining build.
Do I have to ride Reptyro while mining?#
No. Crafting the Reptyro Saddle and Reptyro Cryst Saddle unlocks the partner effects, but the Pals only need to remain in your active party. You can ride a different mount while both ore reductions continue to apply.
Does zero-weight ore include Stone and wood?#
No. Stone and wood use different item categories. Add Fuddler for Stone weight reduction and Gumoss for wood weight reduction. Those choices turn the two-Pal ore core into a mixed-material gathering party.
Do both Reptyro variants need four stars?#
No. Three stars on each Pal gives 50% plus 55%, which is already enough to reach zero effective ore weight. The fourth star can still improve their broader rank benefits, but it is unnecessary for this guide's carry-weight promise.
Make one trip, not five#
The Reptyro pair is one of Palworld 1.0's cleanest quality-of-life builds because it scales with the part of the game that gets heavier, not easier. New regions add more ore types, but the same two partner skills keep covering the entire category.
Stop at three stars if weight is the only goal. Spend the saved condensation materials on Fuddler, a mount, or the combat Pal that keeps the route moving. Then use the broader Palworld resource farming guide to turn the party into a repeatable circuit.
