The most beautiful base locations in Palworld 1.0

Updated

The Crystal Pool Paradise at -540, -1361 is the best-looking site you can actually build on quickly: the pool is shallow enough to take foundations without the aquatic kit, and the ground around it is dead flat. If you want a harder, showier project instead, the Waterfall Challenge at -220, -1498 and the Hanging Wall Ravine at 409, -693 are the two most dramatic pieces of terrain on this list.

Why these sites

A screenshot base needs three things the rest of the map does not reliably give you: water you can build over, real height to stack against, and structures already sitting in the landscape to build around. Every site below has at least one of those, and the three easy builds have flat ground as well, so the view does not cost you a week of terrain fighting.

Three of the six are easy builds you can start the day you arrive. The rest trade convenience for drama, and every tradeoff is spelled out in the table before you commit a Palbox to it.

The Crystal Pool Paradise

Sunreach · Easy build

AestheticAquatic
The crystallized pool at -540, -1361: shallow enough to drop foundations straight in.

This is the rare site where the prettiest option is also the easiest one. The crystallized pool takes foundations directly, so a glass floor over glowing water is a first-session build rather than an endgame project, and the flat, wide-open ground around it means you can grow outward in any direction without terracing. The one thing to plan around is your neighbour: Pocket Pair moved the Jetragon world boss into this pool, so set your footprint off to one side and check its exact spawn on the map before you place anything permanent.

The Half-Made Village

Sunreach · Easy build

Aesthetic
Pre-built walls and structures frame the half-made village, pool and waterfalls included.

Where the crystal pool gives you a blank flat canvas, this one hands you a half-finished set. A flat, open wheat field is already dotted with pre-built structures, and the space is framed by natural walls, pools, a stone bridge and surrounding waterfalls. That framing is what makes it read as a village instead of a compound: you are filling gaps between things that already look like they belong, rather than inventing a skyline from nothing.

The Waterfall Challenge

Sunreach · Advanced

Aesthetic
The waterfall challenge: stacked turquoise pools across multiple water levels.

The most photogenic spot on this page and the least forgiving. Stacked turquoise pools sit across several water levels, so almost nothing lines up on a single plane and the usable footprint keeps changing as you climb. Treat it as a project rather than a home: it is explicitly not a beginner build, and the payoff is a base that looks legendary from any angle.

The Hanging Wall Ravine

Scouring Island · Advanced

AestheticHidden
Scouring Island's stacked pillars and flat platforms rise straight out of the water.

Scouring Island has the wildest topography in the game, and this is the site that lets you use it as architecture. Giant stacked rock pillars carry flat platforms on top, deep ravines cut between them and ancient statues sit in the middle of it. You can take one pillar as a private island-within-an-island, or go for the ambitious version and string a hanging wall base straight across the ravine.

The Lush Underground Grotto

Sunreach · Moderate

HiddenAesthetic
The lush sinkhole grotto: water at the bottom, greenery, and mineshaft tunnels out the sides.

Beauty that nobody else can see from the surface. This sinkhole holds water at the bottom, lush greenery and mineshaft tunnels punching out the sides, which gives you both a natural centrepiece and ready-made corridors to extend into. It is the scenic answer for players who find open-field builds too exposed.

The Lava Flow Shelf

Flame Pulse Island · Easy build

ResourceAesthetic
Flame Pulse Island's central shelf, with natural lava flows to build around.

The only site on this page whose visual signature is heat rather than water. Flame Pulse Island is new in 1.0 and its central shelf is flat and highly workable, so the styling work goes into the edge: push the build outward and let the natural lava flows run through the design instead of walling them off. The island keeps a hidden world boss, but the shelf sits far enough from it that it will never wander into your base.

Honorable mentions

Two more sites are genuinely beautiful but earn their place as production bases first, so they live on the endgame page: the River Megabase Hub at -321, -1389, where a river, ruins and stepped shoreline become a glass-floored town, and the Sunreach Ore Plateau at -545, -1299, where a skill-fruit tree, sweeping sightlines and a waterfall soften an industrial footprint.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the prettiest base location in Palworld 1.0?

The Crystal Pool Paradise at -540, -1361 in Sunreach. A shallow crystallized pool takes foundations without the Aquatic Construction Kit and the surrounding ground is flat and open, so the best-looking option is also one of the easiest to build.

Which scenic base location is hardest to build?

The Waterfall Challenge at -220, -1498. The space is awkward, with extreme verticality and multiple water levels to fight, and the volume of running water causes a noticeable frame-rate dip while you build.

Is it safe to build in the Crystal Pool with Jetragon there?

Build off to one side. Pocket Pair moved the Jetragon world boss into this pool, so a footprint pushed to one edge keeps stray aggro away from your base pals. Check its exact spawn on the interactive map before you place the Palbox.
