Hidden and underground base locations in Palworld 1.0

Updated

The Secret Underground Fallout Bunker at -1281, -633 is the most completely hidden site in the game: a flat patch of Sandstone Gate desert with a tiny hole that drops into a massive cavern, so the only thing visible above ground is a ladder. The Lush Underground Grotto at -259, -1398 is the prettier version of the same idea, and the Hanging Wall Ravine at 409, -693 hides a base in plain sight by putting it where nobody walks.

Why these sites

Hiding a base buys two things. The obvious one is atmosphere: a bunker or a grotto reads completely differently from a field of foundations. The quieter one is that a concealed entrance changes how you think about approach and defence, which matters once base raids are part of your routine.

Concealment always costs access, though, and the three sites below charge different prices for it. Read the access column before you decide, because a base you cannot move materials in and out of is a diorama rather than a home.

Every location in detail

The Secret Underground Fallout Bunker

Sandstone Gate · Moderate

Hidden
The unassuming Sandstone Gate desert that hides a full underground cavern.

The holy grail for a genuinely hidden base. From the surface it is a boring, flat patch of desert; the giveaway is a tiny hole in the ground that drops into a massive underground cavern. Because the cavern does the concealing, the entire base can sit below the horizon line with nothing but a single ladder poking out at the top, which is exactly the fallout-bunker or hidden-mining-base fantasy that nothing else on the map delivers this cleanly.

The Lush Underground Grotto

Sunreach · Moderate

HiddenAesthetic
The lush sinkhole grotto: water at the bottom, greenery, and mineshaft tunnels out the sides.

Take the bunker concept and make it beautiful. This second sinkhole has water at the bottom, lush greenery and real verticality, and multiple mineshaft tunnels punch out of the sides, so the layout comes with corridors already cut for you. That combination of a concealed bowl and ready-made side passages is about as close to a perfect secret tunnel base as the game gets.

The Hanging Wall Ravine

Scouring Island · Advanced

AestheticHidden
Scouring Island's stacked pillars and flat platforms rise straight out of the water.

Hidden by geography rather than by roof. Scouring Island stacks giant rock pillars with flat platforms on top and cuts deep ravines between them, so claiming one pillar gives you an island-within-an-island that is simply difficult to reach. The ambitious version is a hanging wall base strung across the ravine itself. Scout the area first, because the island keeps a world boss.

Hidden bases and raids

Concealment changes how a raid feels rather than whether one happens, so pair a hidden site with a plan for the waves themselves. The base and raid rework guide covers what changed in 1.0, and the base raids guide has the wave compositions by biome and the cancel costs.
