The World Tree Electric Shard Drop Table Makes No Sense, So Here Is the Best Farm

Electric Radiant Gems drop from 15 World Tree Pal variants, including Dark, Fire, Water, Grass, Ground, and Dragon targets. Here is the complete table and the fastest farming loop.

The World Tree's “Electric Shard” farm looks broken because Electric Radiant Gems drop from Pals such as Shaolong, Lyleen, Faleris, and Knocklem. None of those Pals is Electric. Several Dark Pals also carry the material, while plenty of nearby creatures do not.

The drop table is not using elemental logic. It is using a hand-authored list of 15 World Tree level-70 variants. Once that rule is clear, the fastest farm becomes simple: sweep the dense Shaolong cluster at Alluvion Lakefront instead of hunting only yellow Electric Pals.

Why non-Electric Pals drop Electric Radiant Gems#

Palworld does not calculate this loot from a Pal's element. Every eligible World Tree variant has an explicit Electric Radiant Gem entry in its character drop row.

That produces a deliberately even but visually confusing distribution:

  • Five eligible targets have the Electric element.
  • Five eligible targets have the Dark element.
  • Five eligible targets have neither Electric nor Dark.

The level suffix matters. The familiar lower-level versions of these species do not automatically inherit the World Tree material. The relevant entries are the World Tree level-70 forms, plus a separate set of level-80 enemies with much larger guaranteed drops.

The in-game item name is Electric Radiant Gem. Players frequently shorten it to Electric Shard because it occupies the same practical role as the World Tree's elemental shard-style materials. Search and inventory filters use the official Gem name.

All 15 level-70 targets#

Every standard level-70 target in this table has the same drop rule: 50% chance, 1 to 3 Electric Radiant Gems. With an average successful quantity of two, each kill is worth one gem on average before bonuses.

OtherKnocklemGround50%1 to 3
OtherFalerisFire50%1 to 3
OtherFaleris AquaWater50%1 to 3
OtherLyleenGrass50%1 to 3

This is why an Electric-only hunting strategy underperforms. It ignores two-thirds of the standard drop pool and skips the densest single-species cluster.

Four level-70 boss rows improve the rate without changing the quantity. Boss Snock Terra, Wistella, Venusa, and Roujay have a guaranteed 1 to 3 Gem drop. Treat those bosses as route bonuses whenever their positions fit the loop.

The level-80 jackpot targets#

Six level-80 World Tree entries use a different reward tier. Each one drops 10 to 20 Electric Radiant Gems at 100%:

  • Univolt
  • Grizzbolt
  • Beakon
  • Azurmane
  • Helzephyr Lux
  • Mossanda Lux

These are jackpot encounters, averaging 15 Gems apiece. Kill them whenever they appear, but do not build the entire route around chasing a sparse level-80 spawn. The level-70 density loop supplies more predictable materials per minute and naturally overlaps other World Tree resources.

Why Alluvion Lakefront is the fastest route#

Three regions stand out when every eligible placement is weighted by its actual chance and quantity:

RegionEligible placementsExpected Gems per full placement sweepGems per placement
Alluvion Lakefront3432.90.97
Whimsical Wisteria Grove5135.70.70
Lacrymal Shoal7841.30.53

Lacrymal Shoal has the largest theoretical total, but it spreads that total across 78 eligible placements. Alluvion Lakefront delivers almost the same expected haul from fewer than half as many targets.

The reason is Shaolong. All 30 Shaolong placements in the lakefront use Shaolong as their only candidate, at levels 76 to 78. There is no weighted alternate Pal diluting those points. A complete clear therefore provides 30 direct rolls at the standard 50%, 1-to-3 table.

Run the lakefront as a compact shoreline circuit:

  1. Start at the nearest Alluvion Lakefront fast travel point.
  2. Follow the waterline and clear Shaolong packs without detouring for non-eligible Pals.
  3. Sweep the inland edge of the same cluster on the return leg.
  4. Kill any additional eligible World Tree targets that overlap the circuit.
  5. Leave the area far enough to cycle spawns, then return for the next clear.

The route is easy to count. If you finish far below 30 kills, part of the cluster was skipped. If the route takes too long, the problem is target selection, not the drop rate.

The best drop-boosting Pal for the route#

Shaolong is Dragon and Water, so two Partner Skills can boost its material drops:

  • Cryolinx boosts drops from Dragon Pals.
  • Fenglope Lux boosts drops from Water Pals.

Use the higher-ranked Partner Skill of the two and keep that Pal active while finishing Shaolong. Both target the same drop because Shaolong satisfies both elemental conditions, but only the active drop booster should be included in route math.

At Partner Skill rank 1, the relevant elemental drop bonus is 40%. At rank 5, it reaches 80%. This raises expected Gems per Shaolong from 1.0 to 1.4 at rank 1 or 1.8 at rank 5 before the world's item-drop multiplier.

Menasting is the tempting wrong choice for this route. Its Partner Skill boosts drops from Electric Pals. Shaolong is not Electric, even though it drops the Electric material. Drop boosters check the target's element, not the item being farmed.

For a mixed route, change the active booster to match the current target group. One universal booster does not cover all 15 species.

Other Electric Radiant Gem sources#

World Tree Electric treasure chests can roll 5 to 10 Gems, and high-tier expeditions can return smaller bundles. Recycling also contains rare low-probability Gem outputs. These sources are useful background income, but they lack the repeatable target density of the Alluvion route. The PalMods farming hub covers the same density-first approach for other resources.

The efficient priority is:

  1. Kill every level-80 jackpot carrier in reach.
  2. Clear the 30 Shaolong placements at Alluvion Lakefront.
  3. Open World Tree Electric treasure chests along the loop.
  4. Use expeditions as passive supply between active farms.
  5. Expand to Whimsical Wisteria Grove when the lakefront is cycling.

The farming mistake to avoid#

Do not scan the World Tree for Electric-colored targets. The material name describes the reward, not the eligibility rule. The drop table rewards an exact list of World Tree variants, including five Dark Pals and five Pals outside both Electric and Dark.

For the fastest reliable supply, build the route around Shaolong, use Cryolinx or Fenglope Lux as the active drop booster, and treat level-80 carriers as jackpots. The table makes no elemental sense, but its best farm is one of the cleanest loops in the World Tree.
