An Ancient Civilization Core surrounded by five tiers of Ancient Relics and endgame crafting materials

Ancient Civilization Core Farming: Your First 20 and the Forever Farm

Your first 20 Ancient Civilization Cores should build the machine that changes the farm. Follow the pre-Recycler routes, exact construction cost, and World Tree relic loop for a sustainable endgame supply.

Your first 20 Ancient Civilization Cores are not spending money. They are startup capital.

Palworld 1.0 gives you several ways to find Cores, but one unlock completely changes the economy: the Ancient Relic Recycler. It costs 20 Cores to build, then lets World Tree relics feed the same resource you just spent.

The efficient route is a two-act story. Scrape together the first 20 without wasting them, build the Recycler at level 74, then graduate from occasional drops to a repeatable relic conversion loop.

Phase one: get the first 20 without the machine#

Before the Recycler exists, consistency matters more than chasing one mythical perfect boss. Expeditions are the backbone because their listed Core rewards are guaranteed and scale with the region.

Pre-Recycler sourceCore listingHow to use it
Snow expedition1 guaranteedStart here if later regions are not unlocked
Sakurajima expedition1 to 2 guaranteedReliable background income
Dark Island expedition2 to 3 guaranteedStrong mid-to-late bridge
Sky Island expedition3 to 4 guaranteedEfficient once your expedition team is ready
World Tree expedition3 to 5 guaranteedBest guaranteed standard expedition listing

Oil Rig 21 to 5 at 55.03%Best listed oil-rig chance, but still random
Large Oil Rig 21 to 5 at 44.12%Useful when the rest of its loot also matters
World Tree fishpond1 to 3 at 44.44%Parallel farm when fishing rewards fit your plan
World Tree fishing1 to 3 at 34.44%Lower Core rate, broader fishing route

Percentages are source listings, not promises that every completed run pays out. Expeditions are the choice when you want a floor. Oil rigs and fishing are the choice when the rest of their reward pool is worth your time too.

Two Pals also have a direct Core drop listed at one Core with a 100% drop chance:

Use their Palpedia entries to locate the version and encounter details available to your save. The guaranteed item listing does not make the encounter itself equally convenient at every progression stage.

The level 74 pivot#

The Ancient Relic Recycler unlocks at Technology level 74 for three Technology Points. It requires electricity and a substantial construction job, so prepare the full bill before you commit the Cores.

RequirementsLevel 74+

The build has a work amount of 1,000,000 and an energy consumption speed of 800. Put it in a powered production base with strong Handiwork instead of assuming the machine will be ready the moment the blueprint lands.

  1. 1Bank 20 Ancient Civilization Cores

Treat them as reserved Recycler materials.

  2. 2Stock the other construction materials

Bring 50 Paloxite Ingots, 50 Mythical Wood, and 30 Ancient Civilization Parts.

  3. 3Build in a powered production base

Assign high-Handiwork Pals for the one-million-work construction job.

  4. 4Move to the relic loop

Keep the Recycler supplied with the highest-tier Ancient Relics you can farm efficiently.

Twenty Cores is not the finish line. It is the bridge from hunting Cores to manufacturing a Core economy.

Phase two: turn relics into the forever farm#

After the Recycler is operational, Ancient Relics become your main decision. Higher tiers can produce larger Core stacks and carry better listed chances.

Recycler inputCore outputListed chance
Decayed Ancient Relic120%
Dormant Ancient Relic5 to 1024%
Gorgeous Ancient Relic5 to 1028.8%
Glowing Ancient Relic5 to 1034.56%
Glistening Ancient Relic5 to 1041.472%

The obvious mistake is farming the highest tier even when the route is slow or dangerous for your current party. Judge relics per hour, not relics per item. A clean loop through a lower tier can beat repeated wipes on the top route.

The Ancient Relic farming guide maps the material side of this loop. Use the World Tree guide to prepare the zone rather than treating it like a chest run with taller scenery.

No World Tree access yet?#

You still have a route. Keep expeditions running, use Oil Rig 2 when your gear can clear it comfortably, and collect the guaranteed Pal drops available to your save. The Recycler makes World Tree relics dramatically more useful, but it does not erase every earlier Core source.

Why we are not declaring one boss the universal best farm

The current item data gives exact normalized rows for expeditions, oil rigs, fishing, salvage, recycling, treasure, and direct Pal drops. It does not support turning every popular boss anecdote into a guaranteed rate. This route uses the sources that can be checked and repeated.

What deserves your Cores after the Recycler#

Ancient Civilization Cores feed 1.0 endgame equipment such as the Advanced Shield, Wing Pack, Plasma Rifle, Beam Launcher, Drone Launcher, high-tier batons, AI Core, and upgraded weapon modules.

Use this priority order unless your build has an obvious emergency:

  1. Recycler first. It changes how you acquire the resource.
  2. Survival or movement bottleneck. Buy the shield or mobility upgrade that makes the next route reliable.
  3. One complete damage plan. Finish the weapon or module you will actually use instead of starting four projects.
  4. Specialist toys. Build situational batons and alternate modules once the main loop is funded.
  • Keep expeditions running whenever the party can spare the Pals
  • Save the first 20 Cores for the Ancient Relic Recycler
  • Pre-stock its Paloxite Ingots, Mythical Wood, and Ancient Civilization Parts
  • Build it in a powered high-Handiwork base
  • Farm the highest relic route I can clear quickly and safely
  • Reserve future Cores for one finished equipment upgrade at a time

Once this loop is running, Cores stop feeling like a rumor and start behaving like an endgame production material. That is the real unlock.
