How to Get Ancient Civilization Cores in Palworld 1.0

Beat Feybreak Tower but still have zero Cores? Run the Dark Cave of Feybreak expedition now, save your first 20, then build the Ancient Relic Recycler for the best long-term farm.

Beat Feybreak Tower and still have zero Ancient Civilization Cores? Open your Pal Expedition Station. Clearing that tower unlocks the Dark Cave of Feybreak expedition, which pays a base reward of 2 to 3 Cores per 60-minute run before expedition strength bonuses.

That is your cleanest route to the first 20. Save those Cores for the Ancient Relic Recycler, then use World Tree relics to build a repeatable endgame supply.

Start with the Dark Cave of Feybreak expedition#

The Feybreak Tower clear is the important breakpoint. The boss does not place Cores in your inventory. It unlocks an expedition that can bring them home every hour.

Dark Cave of Feybreak requires 20 Dark Pals and recommends 476,000 expedition strength. The mission can take more than the minimum 20, so use additional eligible Pals to raise the strength bonus without breaking your main combat party.

  1. 1Open the Pal Expedition Station

Look for Dark Cave of Feybreak in the destination list after the Feybreak Tower clear.

  2. 2Assign 20 Dark Pals

This is the mission requirement, not the ideal stopping point.

  3. 3Push toward 476,000 strength

Add stronger Pals until the team reaches the recommendation, then keep improving it for a larger reward bonus.

  4. 4Start the 60-minute expedition

The base completion reward includes 2 to 3 Ancient Civilization Cores.

  5. 5Restart it immediately

Treat the station as passive income while you raid, farm the World Tree, or work on your base.

If Dark Cave of Feybreak is missing, confirm that the save recognizes your tower clear and that you are checking the standard expedition destination list. At level 80, player level is not the blocker.

Every expedition that rewards Ancient Civilization Cores#

Later expedition destinations raise the base Core payout, but Dark Cave of Feybreak is the best destination available immediately after clearing Feybreak Tower.

ExpeditionRequired teamRecommended strengthTimeBase Core reward
Astral Frost Cavern20 Ice Pals286,00060 min1
Celestial Sakura Cavern20 Water Pals375,00060 min1 to 2
Dark Cave of Feybreak20 Dark Pals476,00060 min2 to 3
Sunreach Isle20 Dragon Pals589,00060 min3 to 4
World Tree Subterranean City Ruins20 Pals851,00060 min3 to 5

These are the base completion amounts. Expedition strength bonuses can multiply the haul, which is why a deep roster matters even after you meet the minimum team requirement.

Always send the highest Core-paying expedition you can staff without gutting the Pals you need elsewhere. The station keeps earning while you pursue active sources, so leaving it idle is the one option that never pays.

Farm raids and oil rigs while the expedition runs#

Raid bosses are the main active source before the Ancient Relic Recycler. Build a Summoning Altar or use the dedicated raid battlefield, craft the correct slab or sigil, and clear the strongest fight you can repeat without draining your ammunition and repair materials.

  • Bellanoir is the easiest entry point and drops 1 Ancient Civilization Core.
  • Moon Lord drops 2 Cores and is a strong level 80 target if you already have Celestial Sigils from the Sealed Realm of Terraria.
  • Higher raid bosses also drop Cores, but the best fight is the one your base can clear consistently.

The level 55 and level 60 Oil Rigs are supplements, not guaranteed hourly income. Their main reward chests can roll 1 to 5 Cores. In the current 1.0 reward pools, the level 55 rig lists a 55.03% Core chance and the level 60 large rig lists 44.12%.

Use oil rigs when you also want schematics, ammunition, and their other chest rewards. If you only need the first few Cores, a running Feybreak expedition plus an easy raid loop is more dependable.

Get guaranteed Cores from Silvance and Dandilord#

Two World Tree Pals carry a direct Core drop. Silvance and Dandilord each list 1 Ancient Civilization Core at 100%.

Neither Pal can be bred in Palworld 1.0. Farming wild encounters works, but you cannot mass-produce them through breeding. Capturing a target still gives its normal loot, and a captured copy can later pass through the Pal Disassembly Conveyor for another roll on its drop table.

This route becomes attractive once you are already moving through the World Tree. Before then, do not delay the Feybreak expedition or a raid you can clear just to chase these encounters.

Save the first 20 Cores for the Ancient Relic Recycler#

The Ancient Relic Recycler is the resource pivot. It unlocks at level 74 for 3 Technology Points, but its Paloxite Ingot and Mythical Wood requirements make it a World Tree project.

RequirementsLevel 74+

Build it at a production base with reliable electricity. The structure has a large construction workload, and it needs a worker, Ancient Relics, World Tree Holy Water, and power to process a batch.

Keep the two 20s separate in your plan:

  1. 20 Dark Pals staff the Dark Cave of Feybreak expedition.
  2. 20 Ancient Civilization Cores pay for the Recycler.

Do not sink that first Core reserve into an optional weapon, baton, shield, or module when the Recycler is within reach. One exciting craft can delay the machine that changes the entire Core farm.

Turn World Tree relics into your long-term Core farm#

Once the Recycler is powered, load it with the Ancient Relics dropped throughout the World Tree and keep World Tree Holy Water in its fuel slot. Higher relic tiers improve both the Core chance and the possible stack size.

Recycler inputPossible Core outputCore chance
Decayed Ancient Relic120%
Dormant Ancient Relic5 to 1024%
Gorgeous Ancient Relic5 to 1028.8%
Glowing Ancient Relic5 to 1034.56%
Glistening Ancient Relic5 to 1041.472%

Each relic is a separate reward roll, so even a high-tier relic is not a guaranteed Core stack. Volume wins. Clear World Tree enemies efficiently, collect relics and Holy Water together, then process the batch while your expedition team keeps working in the background.

World Tree treasure piles, fishing, and large fishing ponds can also produce Cores. Treat those as parallel income rather than the backbone of the route. The Ancient Relic farming guide covers the relic side, while the World Tree guide handles access and survival prep.

Spend future Cores in a sensible order#

After the Recycler is running, Ancient Civilization Cores stop being a one-time gate and become an endgame production material. Use them to finish one power spike at a time.

  1. Ancient Relic Recycler. This always gets the first 20.
  2. Survival or movement. Advanced Shield and Wing Pack can make harder routes reliable.
  3. One complete damage setup. Finish the Plasma Rifle, Beam Launcher, Drone Launcher, or module path you actually use.
  4. Specialist equipment. Build alternate modules and elemental batons after the main loadout is funded.
  • Keep Dark Cave of Feybreak running every hour
  • Save the first 20 Ancient Civilization Cores
  • Stock 50 Paloxite Ingots, 50 Mythical Wood, and 30 Ancient Civilization Parts
  • Build the Ancient Relic Recycler in a powered base
  • Farm Ancient Relics and World Tree Holy Water together
  • Spend later Cores on one finished upgrade path at a time

For a player at level 80 with Feybreak Tower cleared, the next move is simple: start Dark Cave of Feybreak now. The tower opened the door, the expedition funds the first 20, and the Recycler turns those 20 into the foundation of every Core-heavy craft that follows.
