Coralum Ore and Chromite are two of the most tedious materials to gather in Palworld 1.0.
Coralum Ore means fishing deep-sea supply drops with a magnet and rod, and
Chromite means sweeping certain islands with a Metal Detector. The 1.0 update ends both grinds.
The Ancient Material Synthesizer is a level 78 base structure that produces any wood or ore on demand. Assign one mining Pal, pick a recipe, and it turns out Coralum Ore, Chromite, or whatever you are short on. Here is how to unlock it, what it costs, and how to run it, from a walkthrough by HeRo Survival Guides.
- Unlock level
- 78
- Pals assigned
- One mining Pal
- Output per recipe
- Up to 9,999
What the Ancient Material Synthesizer does#
The Ancient Material Synthesizer is a Production structure that, in the game's own words, uses the power of the World Tree to produce all kinds of wood and ore. You interact with it, open the Recipe List, and choose a single material to run. The station then produces that material continuously while a Pal is assigned.
Its recipe list covers the full spread of gathering materials, from wood and stone all the way up to the rare ores you normally hunt across the map. Coralum Ore and Chromite are both on the menu, which is what makes this the strongest endgame ore setup in the game.

Unlock it and the build cost#
The station unlocks at level 78 in the Technology tree, under Ancient Technology. It is an endgame build, and the materials match:
Paloxite Ingot and Ancient Civilization Core are both late-game materials, so plan to build this once you are already deep into the endgame. This is a permanent base upgrade that pays for itself the first time you would otherwise farm ore by hand.

Set up the ore farm#
Setup takes under a minute once the station is placed. Only one Pal can work it, so put your strongest miner on the job.
- 1Build the Ancient Material Synthesizer at your base
Place it like any other production structure once it is unlocked.
- 2Interact and open the Recipe List
Use the select-recipe prompt to see every available material.
- 3Pick Coralum Ore or Chromite
Every wood and ore recipe is selectable, so choose whatever you are short on.
- 4Assign one mining Pal
The station takes a single worker, so use your highest Mining Pal for speed.
- 5Collect the output
The station stacks the ore up to 9,999, ready to grab whenever you need it.

Coralum Ore and Chromite, made easy#
The point of the station is skipping the two ore grinds that eat the most time. Coralum Ore forms in the deep sea and normally has to be fished out of supply drops. Chromite is buried underground and normally has to be tracked down island by island with a Metal Detector. The synthesizer replaces both with a recipe you queue once.
| Ore | Old farming method | With the Synthesizer |
|---|---|---|
| Coralum Ore | Fish deep-sea supply drops with a magnet and rod | Queue the recipe, collect from the station |
| Chromite | Metal-detect certain islands by hand | Queue the recipe, collect from the station |
Because the same station also makes ingots, stone, and other ores, one build covers most of your gathering needs. Swap the recipe whenever your priorities change and the assigned Pal picks up the new order immediately.
Is it worth building?#
If you are past level 78 and tired of chasing
Coralum Ore supply drops or hunting
Chromite with a detector, the Ancient Material Synthesizer is the clear upgrade. The build cost is steep, but it is a one-time investment that turns two of the game's worst grinds into a hands-off production line. Pair it with other endgame setups like the Dumud Gild gold farm and your base handles the tedious work for you. Confirmed on ✓ v1.0.
